Pollard to the Ravens?

If you think trading away AJ Brown was a bad idea, trading Simmons is far, far worse.  He's a high level established player in his prime. Trading him also likely gets a huge negative reaction from tea

Once the Jets got Brownlee they didn't need Gardener

Robinson got an extension after most of this and the team was leading the division at the time he was fired, midseason. It just happened to be after AJ lit them up. Of course that's why she fired him.

Carthon got an extension right before being fired too

The Carthon extension was tied to the promotion he got when he was named top football team guy after Vrabel got fired. Its really not the issue you think it is. She gave him the power after Vrabel because the structure was a problem and then he got exposed. I would bet in large part because Vrabel wasn't around sucking all the oxygen out of the room.

Forgot where I read it but the trade for Gardener is a major indicator the Colts believe Jones is the guy for the next 3-4 years. You only make that move if you have your QB. TBh I don't hate the move for them. The Colts have a very roster and are entering their contention window if Jones is about to go on a Tannehill like heater for a few years.

The only way that trade is not a failure is if it nets the colts a Daniel Jones led Super Bowl which is very doubtful.

If Daniel Jones is Ryan Tannehill, he will not get them where they want to go, and they will need a QB.

The other thing that happened at the same time was AJ telling his side of the negotiations with Robinson and expressing his willingness to stay in Tennessee for a reasonable amount. I've always suspected that she felt JRob had lied to her about the necessity for the trade.  Of course we never know anything for certain with the press in this market.

Id say if they get to the AFCCG a few times over the next 3-4 years, thats a win trade wise. We all like to make fun of Ballard but he's put a nice roster together the past few years. I believe Richardon was forced on him by Irsay but could be wrong. When you have a good GM, they can build teams in different ways.

The counter to that is that its very possible the Colts are total frauds. we'll find out over the next month or so. If they are then the trade will be a major failure.

Sauce Gardner is not 2 1st round picks good though. Especially when you add the contract.

Their SB window is also limited.  Jones will have a big, big cap hit by 2027.

I don't blame them for taking their chances with Jones... if they drafted another QB in '26, it would be a few years before they could compete for a championship and the roster would be aged out or priced out.. might as well go for it now

I think he is to them because they are that weak on defense. He could change the way they're able to play defense especially when Chavarious Ward comes back.

He is just as handsy as Brownlee ever was. Now..........if the refs start giving him the good team treatment, he will be ok, but if they treat him like they have with the jets...........
