Popular Post CaliTitan3518
I don't want McCarthy but I also don't want a young HC with no experience coming in and continuing to fucking suck. McCarthy has atleast done it and not been horrific while doing it. Sure he has choked and only won one super bowl despite having one of the best QBs of all time, but he has also had some success. airmcnair22, 1982, titanskick8851, and 2 others

scine09
I’m not a McCarthy guy but they absolutely need someone with experience after what’s happened with Callahan. They can’t afford to hire an up and coming HC but one without experience. Mike McCoy has done it, including two trips to the playoffs with the Chargers. If this nonsense continues (who knows, we may find out later today that Callahan is out) maybe he gets the rest of the season to show that he’s deserving of another shot. Whatever it is, however, it can’t be someone green. They’re not in a position to make a hire like that. titanskick8851, and airmcnair22

Yes...a coach with a successful record is who they really need to target, especially with the new stadium coming. As the narrative of a known coach (with his record of wins) will likely generate more PSL sales for them than what another rookie hire could possibly provide next year. Thrill
You guys are so reactionary. We wanted a young offensive mind! Now that that guy sucked we need an old established veteran coach with a proven track record despite their warts. I do agree that the older guys are better at doing a rebuild. For example, I think Vrabel would’ve really struggled with the version of the team Mularkey took over. But I also think it would be stupid to just reactively decide what type of coach we need. You identify the best possible coach and don’t worry about all this other noise. McCarthey, Flores, Schwartz, and maybe guys who are about to get fired like McDaniel or Zac Taylor could all be decent options. But we should still look at up and coming coordinators and college coaches. Just because Ran ruined everything he touched doesn’t mean getting a young inexperienced coach is a horrible way to operate. Mythos27
charleytolar
The Philadelphia Eagles fired Andy Reid as their head coach on December 31, 2012, after 14 seasons. The decision came after a disappointing 4-12 season, though the separation was amicable, and Reid went on to have significant success with the Kansas City Chiefs.
