Jonboy Posted May 23, 2016 Report Share Posted May 23, 2016 I think I get what they were going for with present Bran, Memory Bran, and present Hodor/past Hodor...but I can see why it could be confusing to people. It seems as if they wanted us to believe that Memory Bran warged into past Hodor, which gave him control over Present Hodor. But yet, Memory Bran didn't show any signs of warging because his eyes never changed and he was able to stand there and watch as Hodor became Hodor. I guess they just expect us to make the logical leap that present Bran was able to warg into past Hodor through the memory and that even though Memory Bran shows no signs of warging, it's because Present Bran is really doing the warging, but Memory Bran is still able to watch it happen? Probably one of those things I'm thinking about way too much as I'm not sure the logistics matter. Hopefully the lesson Bran learns is to avoid any attempt at altering the past because there's really nothing he can do to change it. I listened to all the books and the first few seasons were awesome. I knew what was going to happen and it was still good. Now, I don't even rewatch these episodes. Yeah I was almost kidding because there have been so many jokes about him making it on the show, but the more I think about it, it actually does seem possible. The foreshadowing is one thing, but now the show has properly introduced the next big villain, Euron, to threaten the throne of main characters until the Wall comes down and Westeros unites to fight the White Walkers. Any guesses as to where Yara and Theon are headed? Stealing uncle's (nuncle's) plan and going to Dany? Join up with Jon and Sansa (at White Harbor w/ the Manderlys)? Build political points by raiding Oldtown and the Reach (Tyrells)? -- Also, book vs show quibble/question - The show really glosses over all the kin-slaying going on. Did they ever make it a big deal early on? Jaime murdering his cousin to escape is show-only, and this season alone has Dorne, Boltons (and possibly other northern houses) and the Iron born not giving a shit about observing or admitted kinslaying. I recall reading that Stannis's and Tyrion's actions held consequence of some kind, if only their conscience or those of their allies. Dany's fleet got burned and she is going to need the Iron Fleet to get her new army to Westeros. Dany would probably appreciate a female naval commander more than any other ruler. I figure the tips of the spears were dragon glass. When one of the children stabbed the WW, it wasn't clear if the spear penetrated the armor. When Meera threw the spear, it looks like it got him in the neck. Seems like the simplest explanation, but might there be more to it? Actually considering the choices were him, a woman or a dickless whining abused spouse type I believe that was actually realistic. Yeah, Meera just picked up a dragon glass spear I guess, not knowing what it was or what it would do. I wonder if somehow the Children don't have the ability to kill the Walkers??? Maybe that's why they gave dragon glass to the first men to fight the Walkers thousands of years earlier. They can't kill them on their own, perhaps. So many questions...
