Oh man, I have to print this out and read it later.

Skimming it, that is putting into words much better kind of what I am talking about.  That it is for Jon Snow to stop the Others advance, not through defeat, but by bringing back balance or whatever is missing now.

I wish I didn't have to use my brain so much at my job as I would love to have time to put all this on paper but I just don't have that kind of time.

This probably does a much better job than I would have anyway.

Well for anyone who cares to read this, here are my (lengthy) thoughts now that I’ve had a chance to sleep on it.   I’ll start by saying I'm not sure I've ever been more hyped for an episode

I loved the fact that Theon won his fight cause he has no dick. Haha

Why? The show has passed the books in every major plot line. The link is just a fan theory anyway.

So there is nothing at this point that can be spoiled?

Not even by you? :)

In general, no. We know about the Ironborn storyline but it already isn't unfolding the same way. We also know what's in the tower Ned was headed into. There are random details in the books that hint at the future but no real spoilers, imo.

Nice theory but it cleans up a little too nicely for me. GRMM has already said the ending will be bittersweet and has specifically referenced his dislike of happy tidy endings.

Well yeah.

I didbt read this fan theory but my version above allows for an uneasy peace and balance at the end.

One this for damn sure is that Dany isn't going to come swooping in on drogon to burn up the evil white walkers. He's gone out of his way to say he hates the good vs evil theme started by Tolkien that is now in everything.

That's at the heart of my theory. Dany and dragons are not good and white walkers are not evil or bad or single-minded killers or whatever.

I have a theory, not fleshed out in the least, that Dany ends up being the antagonist and that the others join the North and Bran to defeat her. Danny just seems like one of those characters that tries to do the right thing but eventually breaks due to all the shit that happens to them.

Bran (Stark) the Builder built the Wall.  The Wall is setup to prevent travel from the North to the South.  The Starks have been fighting the White Walkers for a long, long time.

That's interesting and would fit in with the rough sketch I have in mind at least concerning the north (obviously conflicts with my Dany theory). If Dany come to westeros I think that is actually pretty likely.

The problem with the theory is that everything about the wall is engineered to favor holding from the South.

It doesn't have to be either or. The wall could serve a dual purpose.

The Great Wall of China was built to protect Mongolian conquerors from Mongolian invaders.  Starks may have magic blood but as my 3 year old says that's the deal.  Those are the rules.

And to keep unhappy peasants from leaving.
