The High Septon had to be doing something with telling Tommen about Marg's potential walk of atonement. He's too calculating and had to know Tommen would tell Cersei. Maybe he was just testing Tommen but I'd wager he wants Cersei & company to do exactly what they're planning.

Not sure he can survive the army storming the Sept, but you'd think he can threaten Marg and Loras' lives to stall and then play a victim to Tommen or the city itself and win them over? Not sure where they'll go with it, but I just can't imagine he accidentally let that detail slip to Tommen.

He probably knows they won't actually storm the Sept. Calling bluffs is exactly what he's been doing the whole time.

Well for anyone who cares to read this, here are my (lengthy) thoughts now that I’ve had a chance to sleep on it.   I’ll start by saying I'm not sure I've ever been more hyped for an episode

I loved the fact that Theon won his fight cause he has no dick. Haha

I don't think the Queen of Thorns is bluffing. And Cersei isn't either.

Didn't they say something about not having to do anything? Said something about there not being anything wrong w/ just bringing troops into the city. Can't remember the exact comment.

I've only watched the show. What are some key differences between his portrayal on TV and in the books? Is he not a childish, ruthless sadist in the books?

Meh - big picture it's the same only not as likable in the books (Show Ramsey has a dumb smile all of the time... as described for Book Theon.  This makes him a least somewhat appealing on such a dreary show.).

Book Ramsey is described with wormy, pale lips and more slight of build.  Much more scary creepy in general appearance and vibe/presence than how the actor portrays him.  The actor has too much charisma for the role.

They said the king's troops don't need to do anything. The plan is for the Tyrell soldiers to going to enter the city and take the sept. That way the king and the hand had no part in it.

I'm thinking this is a setup for Cersei to take down the Tyrells.  Or at least a no-lose situation for her.

Possible, but at this point the High Sparrow is a bigger threat to her than the Tyrells are.

I disagree. Ramsey isn't the major player the show makes him out to be. In the books he primarily exists for Theon's redemption arc whereas in the show it stopped being about Theon a long time ago.

He didn't fight off Theon's sister while shirtless. He didn't take out Stannis' army with 20 men. He hasn't killed his dad... yet. Basically all of his achievements minus torturing Theon are made up.

He did use Theon to take back Moat Cailin in both versions (though it was more important in the books to allow Roose access back to the North).  It was also Ramsey's idea (in the books) to murder the miller's boys to represent the Starks.  Book Ramsey forced a northern widow lady to marry him to acquire her lands and then left her to starve in a tower.

It was my experience while reading that Ramsey replaced Joffrey as the evil fuck readers wanted to die.  Roose is just cold and calculating.  His death would be nice, but his existence isn't as frustrating.  Whether or not he is as big a player for a throne or whatever in the books is one thing.  The hate for the character is what I connect to.

I know I am in the extreme minority here but I just have a funny feeling Dany never leaves Essos.  That her destiny lies there and eventually she realizes it and re-builds the Targ/Old Valyrian thing perhaps and unites the lands over there, ends slavery, etc.  I don't know if I have ever found someone that agrees with me, and part of this I guess is just being like the talking heads on TV and throwing out a wild theory so if I'm right, I'm a soothsayer, and no downside to being wrong.  I just see evidence in the text for this.  Subtle clues but it is there.  And it seems very un-GRRM to have Dany and Tyrion and Jon as one big happy family come flying in on dragons to save the day.

I think Jon is the key to stopping the whitewalkers, not Dany, and that they will be stopped not by defeating them, but by putting things back into balance (ie the two competing forces in the world.).  IMO the white walkers are rising again for only one reason - because of the re-appearance of fire magic and dragons in the world (admittedly it could be the other way around).  And they are moving south because of the state of things at Winterfell.  That there is something about a connection between the Starks and the white walkers that has all but been forgotten, and that with no Starks in Winterfell the white walkers are not comfortable with the state of things.  I don't really know how the details will play out, and of course I could be way off.  But that maybe there is some kind of pact or ancient agreement between the white walkers and the children and that the Starks are key to that.

Anyway, we shall see.
