Of course Climate change is real, only the stupidest people deny it. All you have to do is look at insurance companies who only care about profit. They use all scientific data to determine how to make money:

Yes, a vast majority of insurance companies recognize that climate change is happening and poses a significant financial risk to their business, with a large percentage viewing it as an investment risk, according to multiple reports including a 2021 BlackRock survey of global insurers. This recognition is reflected in their use of climate scientists for catastrophic modeling and the increasing number of insurers rethinking how and where they offer coverage for properties in high-risk areas, such as those affected by wildfires or severe storms.

The president of one of the world's largest insurance brokers warned Wednesday that climate change is destabilizing the insurance industry, driving up prices and pushing insurers out of high-risk markets

Climate change is real.  Man made climate change for the most part is a fraud.

Some of the clips and quotes from the Kirk "memorial" last night were pretty jarring, even with what we're already used to seeing & hearing.

I most definitely didn't and won't watch. Jarring for their awkward, out of place, gross political nature at a memorial or jarring some other way?

See what @tgo just posted of Stephen Miller. It's a whole new level of rhetoric and propaganda. Jarring for anyone with empathy and an ounce of historical knowledge.

I didn't tune in for it specifically, just kept an eye on it.

Wait!  Didn't the fascist dictator, Orange Cheeto, permanently fire Kimmel and wasn't he preparing to publicly execute him?

The Fuhrer changed his mind?  TACO TRUMP strikes again 🤣

Then Disney lost billions in market value and hundreds of thousands of people canceled their disney accounts, hulu accounts, etc

Which means they lost more money than the FCC could threaten them with.

aka capitalism

Trump tried though.

incidently, it won't be enough.

Never said Trump was going to succeed in being a dictator... just that he's going to try. And he did.

I'm pretty sure we can all agree that tornadoes are a severe weather phenomena that are created and driven by climate conditions.    Right?

Back in the late 1990s, we had a tornado here in Chattanooga.   There were no fatalities and didn't do too too much damage....but around here  it was major news for a few days:  at the time,  this area hadn't seen a tornado in 25-30 years.

I'm pretty sure it was the same situation for Nashville, Knoxville, and Memphis:  tornadoes used to be few and far between.

Fast-forward 20-30 years.....tornadoes are now an annual occurrence throughout the entire region.   They barely even make the news any more unless there's massive damage or loss of life.

NWS historical statistics for the total number of documented tornadoes in the state of Tennessee:

2020-2024:  165    (projects to ~330 over ten years)

2010-2019:  345

2000-2009:  272

 1990-1999:  201

1980-1989:  107

1970-1979:  163

1960-1969:   70

1950-1959:   80

https://www.weather.gov/ohx/tntornadostats

NWS statistics show tornadoes in Tennessee have increased by roughly 50% just in the past 10-20 years....by ~300% over the past 40 years...and 400% since 1950.

And  tornadoes are a climate-driven phenomena.

So we've seen a documented 300-400% increase in climate-related phenomena.....but we're supposed to believe nothing has changed and that climate change doesn't exist.

*Riiiiiiiight.*

One thing to consider is how much technology has improved and how that has impacted tornado numbers. Back in the 50’s and 60’s, we didn’t have NEXRAD radar stations detecting tornadoes (especially nighttime and the QLCS variety) the way we do today. The increase in tornado numbers can be attributed to that factor, much much more than climate factors.

Even with the Gulf being warmer than ever, we’ve had below average tornado counts in recent years. Tornadoes are driven by factors much smaller scale than climate (mesoscale).
