Some of the logical leaps here to defend his “pass catching ability” is pretty hilarious at this point.

 

Like he were this above avg pass catcher why is Bal not using him more in the passing situations.

Except Henry does very well as an outlet receiver. He catches the ball and almost always gets extra yards by eluding defender, breaking a tackle, or generally outrunning them. The idea that he he can't do this despite plenty of evidence is frankly bullshit and proof you guys see what you want to see and nothing else. And the fact that RBs aren't generally big contributors in the passing game is extremely relevant because it highlights just how disproportionate the amount of focus you guys put on it is and shows why you do it. You don't talk about it because it's so immensely important; you focus on it because it's a relative area of weakness that you can attack him for. That's all it's ever been about.

Sometimes on non screen passes unless he catches in stride, he sort of stops and has to start again.  This is related to the discusssion of the build up speed that has been talked about .  That’s probably the best I can explain it.

He doesn't look the most fluid when doing these things. No one has ever argued the opposite. The argument is that if you can look past the superficial aesthetics and see what he actually produces you realize he does way better than you think. People inexplicably dismiss the fact that the dude can take a screen pass to the house from 60 yards out and put 6 on the board in a flash while glorifying a 12 yard angle route because the guy "looked smooth" doing it. It's frankly shallow thinking.
