Titans secure picks #1 and #35 in the 2025 Draft

Incorrect.  I've told you everytime it doesn't matter. That is an answer. 2025 is a throw away year. Ward isn't the answer. Neither are any QBs available.  No QB is going to make them a winner this year.

Collect draft capital to build the roster so when one is available you have the resources to trade up and have holes filled over the roster. You don't draft a qb just to draft a QB because you have the top pick.  You're just extending QB purgatory that way.

Who’s arguing that Ward will make them a winner this year? You have to get the qb this or next year. Who’s to say you’re in position to get a guy you like next year?

And fuck ESPN and the NFLN you pricks can't go to a commercial before the #1 pick.

Let us old-school football guys take a moment appreciate to the fact that the Titans earned the #1 overall pick the old-fashioned way.   Not by tanking or by trading up, but by simply being

I'd hate Hunter. The Titans best position is likely CB and you don't take a WR that high. If the Titans traded down to 3 and Carter went 2 I'd rather trade down again and maybe go for someone like Mem

False.  I named my preference, many, many others have done the same.   But some others refuse even after being asked directly numerous times.  It's not hard to figure out why.  They don't want to defend their alternative.

I'm saying you guys are going about it with the same dogmatic approach imo. It isn't a shot just like my post saying that was weird wasn't either. You know I love ya bud. Hell I even asked you about jobs in the public sector a few years ago haha no worries man just saying that's my view. You guys are both at it like a pitbull on a Tbone.

We are going to be pretty bad next year too.

Saying there is no good option is the fucking answer I've given you repeatedly yet you keep proclaiming you never got an answer. Fuck off with your bullshit.

You said I ignored your preference of a QB.  Point me to it.

From a roster standpoint probably, but I'm telling you directly you're way off regarding Ward. He's a talented QB with a ton of drive, leadership, and poise. His work ethic is excellent and he's calm under fire. He's almost certainly the pick so give him a shot aight. He's leagues better than VY, Locker, or Mariota as overall prospects.

Vince is the closest, but Vince was an unmotivated idiot. Ward is the opposite. He's a pure grinder through and through

You at least have to like that aspect of him. He eats, sleeps, and breaths football. That's an undeniable fact.

I've said repeatedly I would support any pick not named Sanders. That hasn't changed. Arguing that it would be a mistake to take Ward at 1 isn't the samething.

Weird. This keeps getting ignored.

The view of people attacking Ward is a BS stance.  It's a fact that as a prospect he's not viewed anywhere near who would be a normal #1 overall pick.   He's small.  Inconsistent accuracy/lazy mechanics.  Questionable decision making under pressure.  Average at anticipatory throws.  I mean Levis has these issues aside from the size part.

Proponents can point to Mahomes as a best cast comp.  Problem is you can point to a bunch more of guys that range from mid plus to flat out busts with a similar set of issues.

One thing lost in the discussion by the Ward group that for being a #1 overall pick, he HAS TO BE GREAT.  If he's not unquestionably the best QB in franchise history (better than McNair, Moon, or Tannehill level play),  it's a botched use of the draft capital and an overdraft.  He'll have through 2026, assuming he's the pick, the prove he's worthy or not.

I can’t agree with your last point.

If you can't read the thread and see why this is happening, then I can't help you.  He said he gave a preference.  He didn't.  I even got called out for ignoring his preference.    Now the answer has shifted to.....there's no good answer.

I disagree here, but I appreciate your standpoint. I think both of you guys are taking shots at what amounts to ghosts in the overall ether of the conversation.

I'm about as big of a fan boy as you're going to get besides Joe and even I know he's a gamble and I'm projecting him continuing to get better at the position.

Fully agree about Sanders. I would legit be out on the team for a long time if they take Sanders.

Yeah if you dare not to give in to their group think you're a hater. It's childish middle school level thinking on their part. They routinely ignore all the flaws yet repeatedly say they don't,  they absolutely do.  When you tell them there are no good options at QB right now they act like you're ignoring the question. We could sign Wilson. Rodgers, Wentz, etc as a vet and draft a project on day 3 and it wouldn't matter as not a single option, Ward included, is going to win games in 2025 and we still will need a QB.

They are all on Jamiel's Cam Newton level of fanboyism and won't admit it.

I think you're exaggerating some things here. These were all of the qbs taken number 1 overall.

There are a ton of qbs in there that were not Peyton Manning coming out.  Its a risk -  no doubt. But I don't think Ward is unprecedented  unqualified to be #1 overall.    I think waiting to have Peyton Manning level prospect at #1 is futile.  You can't choose when you draft high or who is available.

The reality is its very hard to choose a top qb. 66 Total qbs have been chosen in the first round since 2000.  130 since 1967.

QBs selected in the top five have been named to at least one Pro Bowl in 61.2% of cases.   That's bc teams - get to choose more who they want in the top 5.  Not because the criteria for being in teh top 5 is higher.

If - in another draft, he'd go lower- its more about who is in that draft than his particular worthiness to go #1 overall.

Whether he is Mitchell Trubisky or Mahomes is not really about where he is drafted. Its about which player the Bears chose --  they chose incorrectly.

It is certainly the higher priority in terms of holes in the roster and positional value when you have absolutely no one on the edge...but developing Ward will be all that matters, which is why I think trade down is most likely so we can get a second tier WR and still have a dart for an edge that falls.

Now, if an edge they love falls then you rush to the podium imo but then you may be needing to scour the trade market for some pick swap type deals just to get warm bodies who can catch.

Right now we have as the top 4

1) Ridley

2)Slot NWI/Van Jefferson

3?) Oliver

4?) Burks

5) Scrub punt returner from last year who can't return punts

Our WR team has to be the weakest in the league...but so is edge. Woof. Thanks Quiver C and Sleepy Ran!

I think 3rd round might be the sweet spot for WR…but we don’t have one, thanks Ran!

I wouldn’t exactly be against trading up with the Seattle 4th + Levis to get a WR they like in round 3.

But they need to come out of here with two WR and EDGE who can play in the rotation.  Not sure it’s possible.

I can’t say that. But it’s all about the team we put on the field in 2027. At least from ownerships perspective.
