I think it's obvious at this point the Titans are taking Ward. I'm on board and think his ceiling is pretty high. Callahan gave an interview to A to Z after the season that was super revealing about t

I'm totally fine with the Titans drafting Ward. Enough people think he can be good and he's shown enough NFL traits. It would not be like the Titans overdrafting Anthony Richardson or Trey Lance.

And yet it doesn’t have shit to do with Ward vs Sanders…

My point on Ward vs Sanders was crystal clear. I have liked Ward the most until two weeks back. I like Sanders more now because Sanders has the highest Weight on Target Percentage in this draft and one of the highest all time.

the two last QBs to have the highest WOT was Stroud in ‘23 and Daniels in ‘24 showing the newly found metric is doing great at predictive analysis for Rookie QB success thus far. Hope this clears it up.

For a simple metric I would probably go with years where they had a passer rating > the average passer rating that year. That at least tells you how often they were an above average QB.

Chat can be kind of fun.  I don't know that this means anything but its fun to look at. Some unexpected names in there.  Chat gets a little dubious on this many things to calcute  I didnt double check anything.  Just posting bc a) bored today and b) fun to look at.

Quarterbacks Who Outperformed League Average (10 total)

QuarterbackDraft YearOverall PickFirst QB Taken?

Marcus Mariota20152ndNo (Jameis Winston was 1st)

Jared Goff20161stYes

Mitchell Trubisky20172ndYes

Patrick Mahomes201710thNo (Trubisky was 1st)

Deshaun Watson201712thNo (Trubisky was 1st)

Lamar Jackson201832ndNo (Baker Mayfield was 1st)

Kyler Murray20191stYes

Joe Burrow20201stYes

Tua Tagovailoa20205thNo (Burrow was 1st)

Justin Herbert20206thNo (Burrow was 1st)

Final Count

First Overall Picks Who Outperformed League Average: 3

Jared Goff (2016)

Kyler Murray (2019)

Joe Burrow (2020)

First Quarterbacks Taken Who Outperformed League Average: 5

Jared Goff (2016)

Mitchell Trubisky (2017)

Kyler Murray (2019)

Joe Burrow (2020)

Marcus Mariota (2015)

Key Takeaways

Only 3 of the 10 were first overall picks.

Only 5 of the 10 were the first QB taken in their class.

This means half of the QBs who outperformed expectations were NOT the first QB taken, proving that later first-round picks can sometimes outperform the "consensus best QB."

Your issue is you are using ChatGPT which is a horrible AI platform. Point in case as to why you argued a bad point for so long. ChatGPT says Mitch Trubisky had an above average rookie year. ChatGPT is wrong .

I would definitely want to validate any of these stats before drawing any conclusions.

That stat is also just a start. Trubisky had one year that was above average (and it was just barely). One year he was just below and 2 others we was way below. 1/4 is not good!

I'd probably also wanna see the delta (above and below) by year.

It’s still crystal clear that Ward is the better prospect

This is like every stat discussion I've ever been in lol.  What starts as simple keeps getting more complicated. I think I'll quit while I'm behind ;)

I disagree but I like Cam Ward. I’m going to be very happy with Ward or Sanders. Just again, did some digging after a few people on here discussed Ward’s accuracy issues and found they were right. I’m not anti Ward at all, just try to be as fair as I can be with all things considered. It’s also fair for you to like Ward more. It’s QBs, you play a guessing game.

Generative AI for everything now. We are so cooked.

Its not generative really. Its analysis.  Generative is usually talking about creating content.   If you're not using AI- you're falling behind at this point.
