Musk calling the ... deplorables ... "contemptable fools" that need to be excised from the Republican party is pretty funny to see. He's right and that's why so many refuse to associate with and vote for that party despite having some alignment on policy, whereas it's partly why he (motivated by anti-trans sentiment against his own child) found a comfortable home there but, hey, hopefully he succeeds in overcoming what has become the vocal base of the modern Republican party.

 

Even just shaming them back to the shadows from whence they came would be great. But, uh, good luck.

It's not just pay. It's sense of self. It's attitude and values. There's nothing corporate masters want more than a workforce that lives and breathes to produce. No leisure, no humanity. Just working drones that derive all personal value from the entities these guys control. Put the billionaires in control and see what happens. They loathe the working class and merely mouth words to gain their support.

They are absolutely right, btw, that immigrants are an important part of this country and a lot of value is derived from their hard work and integration (they had a lot culturally as well but that's a separate point from pure economics). Some of that is virtuous hard work and some of that is fear because they know what it's like not to have opportunities, whereas Americans lack perspective and are coddled in some ways (while being abused in others, which is always a weird tug of war).

It was never a claim of one side not having racism, that's a strawman. It was pointing out a very specific sub culture of MAGA that happens to be extremely racist.
