I could quit today and be just fine.

In the business world, you can accept gifts below a certain amount because it would be unreasonable to think such a low amount could influence you. It doesn't take much to cross that dollar threshold

"Qualified" for my pension doesn't mean I'm eligible right now. To retire you have to have 30 years in and be 57. I have 35 years but won't be old enough until 2028. But I'll get it when I turn 57 regardless now.

They've offered other postal jobs early outs but not carriers(and won't) because we're short handed.

I'll walk out the day I'm eligible.

And if they came in and eliminated the Post Office, cancelled all pensions and social security I'd still be able to stop working right now.

DOGE already talked with Trump lackey, postamster Louis Dejoy...

They were already reducing the workforce by 10,000 with early retirements and attrition, they are adjusting the retiree health benefit plan(it's overfunded) and planning to better invest the cash the USPS keeps. Otherwise nothing else discussed as of yet.

Fraud is synonymous to "things we don't like" to MAGA.

Same thing with the "woke" label.

"I don't like something so it's woke!"

"No one died" as a result of Trump/Musk cuts will just become "well they aren't Americans" but it's important to at least acknowledge the truth of what they are doing. They could easily have just cut non-life saving aid. They chose to end this.

Elon Musk says that no one has died because he slashed humanitarian aid. I went to South Sudan to check if that's true. It's not. Within an hour of starting interviews, I had the names of a 10-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl who had died because of decisions by wealthy men in Washington.

The visit that moved me the most was to a remote area that used to have no health care, where women routinely died in childbirth. Then a US-funded maternity clinic opened through @UNFPA in December, and not one woman has died since. I showed up, and people mistakenly thought I was responsible for the clinic. One new mom wanted to name her baby for me, and the village elders thanked me and hailed America's generosity. What they didn't know was that Trump/Musk had cut all funding for UNFPA and that as a result the maternity clinic will close this month, and women will once again be bleeding to death in the dust.

Here's a giftlink to my report from ground level about what the shutdown of USAID means:

Yeah, but that’s all just a bunch of broke-ass women and children dying in Africa.    True American patriots don’t give a fuck…they’re too busy Making America Great Again!
