I have enough bandwidth for one social media app, and Twitter is my choice of drug. And I’m even using it less and less since Elon ruined it. Thankfully my info is shitty enough that I don't care who has it.

ctm
Vance's comment about childless couples is the 2024 equivalent of Hillary' deplorables. It's one thing to attack an opposing candidate. It's quite another to attack their supporters whose vote you want. IsntLifeFunny, and OILERMAN

begooode
So over the last week the attack angle against the repubs, and specifically Trump/Vance, seems to have clearly shifted to calling out the "weirdness" of it all. Their ideology is dangerous for sure, but by also calling them weird it allows for the isolation of it and potentially disarms the too-clever-by-half PolitiBro/barstool types -- as being weird or uncool is an anathema to their online flex. ex: Blake Masters. I hope this approach lands with most Americans, because it helps calling out crazy, dangerous stuff and the earlier approach of labeling it as anti-American potentially plays into the repubs' hands and becomes ineffective 'noise'. (oh yeah, just like everything is racist, etc) Edited July 29, 2024 by begooode IsntLifeFunny, and Jamalisms

(oh yeah, just like everything is racist, etc) Dems have always struggled talking to the masses even though they have way better centrist policies that help most outside the 1%. Clinton was awesome at it, Obama was good but could get preachy at times. Hilary was terrible at it, Biden was good at it but was a gaffe machine. One reason I'm starting to warm to Walz is he knows how to address normal down to earth voters who aren't terminally online. Telling these voters democracy is at stake doesn't move the needle. A different message is needed and Walz delivers it. Number9

scine09
The Harris campaign seriously needs to hire someone who works for MeidasTouch. They're terrific and get the information out better than the rest of the media does. Edited July 29, 2024 by scine09

Guest
I mean JD Vance at this point is the gift that keeps on giving. It's like watching Jordan Poole or Dillon Brooks or someone single-handedly shoot the team out of the game.

It's political branding Now, I see it on Kamala's official response and Buttigieg used the tagline on one of his recent TV spots. btw -- the surrogates, strong Dem leaders/spokespersons are NOW out there in force, with relatively persuasive messaging and repub counterprogramming (ex: crime stats). They were not doing this under Biden as the election seemed a lost cause. It's late, but it's so great to see the overall excitement and fairly unified push against the felon and his fascist-leaning ideals. Biden didn't and weighted down the democrat ticket. Kamala isn't a rockstar, regardless of the effort to drum up excitement and momentum, but maybe she doesn't have to be. rns90, OILERMAN, and Mythos27
