What's funny is that the whole 20 M votes thing is now more like 14 M if you look at current counts  but California only has 54% of the vote tabulated and if the % stays the same, she'll have roughly 4 M more votes.  So then you're down to 10 M difference vs 2020.....

Not crazy to think 10 M voters nationwide flipped from D to R when you look at some of the exit poll demographics.

Yeah, I looked at what was outstanding after I posted that and decided to wait and see final totals before really considering it.

It's impossible not to question the morality of people who choose to support politicians who spread vile and dangerous rhetoric like that.   If you're willing do that, what else are you will

Would Trump's numbers reflect that though? I know a bunch of people died from Covid and he lost some voters so the numbers may not fully show the defection, but it doesn't seem like they all flipped as much as just didn't show up.

Another angle on not showing up - did Covid actually make it easier for a bunch of people to vote who weren't bothered this time?

Yes, making things easier means more people do it, especially when they're at home and have more free time. That's part of it and if total votes get close enough then it may be a good enough explanation by itself. Well see where they end up.

I think the dead people affected the 2020 election but deaths petered off early 2021 for the most part.

Trump has about 2 M less votes than 2020 but if he got 40% of the CA vote, he looks to get another 3 M votes or so.

I also think you could also have some disenfranchised voters who simply refused to vote for either Harris or Trump.

Bottom line is that there's no evidence of funny business either in 2024 or proof of it in 2020.

I already see some of the prominent left twitter accounts suggesting something fishy is going on, pointing to various mail in count problems, people saying their mail in ballot remains uncounted, the bomb threats impacting specific counts etc to explain how turnout seemed so high yet vote count so low. By prominent I mean ones with decent followings, nothing more.

Like before, orchestrating this across multiple voting points is not feasible let alone states.

It won't get the traction the MAGA 2020 stolen claims got of course, but it's funny to see the same people who were up in arms about the election deniers of 2020 are going down a similar path.

Here's a quote from Merc earlier this morning...

"I’m fucking vindicated after the shit I’ve been through here the last 6 years. Six fucking years of friends becoming enemies. Telling me I’m wrong. Saying fucking terrible things about me. Painting me as a fucking monster because I didn’t subscribe to their hivemind. Going from one of the most respected posters here and exchanging RL info and being on podcasts and having FB friend requests to being the poster twelve people can’t dogpile the fastest. To the point I private my social media. To the point I unfriended these people after my real life was threatened. Fuck them. Fuck all of them. Eat this loss. This historic loss."

That’s fucked up. Sounds like you dodged a bullet with those, “friends.” I’m not sure where you live but TN is pretty great because even the Lefties we do have aren’t complete retards.  Most that I interact with are pretty normal, other than having a weird obsession with all things Trump. Anybody who would throw away personal relationships over politics are cringe losers who are chronically online and thus not worth the effort IRL.
