Numbers last week indicate that as a percentage of one's income, which has gone up too, general household goods cost the same percentage of average wages as they did in 2019 although it is moot because people do not realize or understand it.

All of this stuff is ugly. I think there is plenty of room for a discussion about reasonable gun ownership and regulation of deadly weapons. I also think enough people realize what ideas our country was founded on and why gun ownership and autonomy go hand in hand and why some rights are worth protecting. I fully believe that if reasonable people were in a room we could figure out solutions and if those solutions weren't working, we could make adjustments until we found solutions that did work.

 

We don't have reasonable people, though; we have Congress, which is filled with Republicans and Democrats.

 

All of that is separate from the discussions we should be having as a society where we actually diverge on opinions and thought, which in my opinion is not nearly as big of a gap as many would assume. Most Americans want a good job, a stable economy, and a hope for their kid's future. We might disagree on how to get there but we all basically want the same things. We should remember that when having these conversations.

I've revised course on this since last night. Ford didn't get reelected after 2 assassination attempts nor did Wallace in the 70s. RFKs replacement didn't win and going back even further, neither did Teddy Roosevelt. Sure things are different  ow with social media but maybe it's not as cut and dry.

It's also 4 months out. This will stir up his base, possibly to violence but not move the needle in the end.

His identity as a white male zoomer is a lot more relevant than quibbling over anything you might find politically. He's not even old enough to have a relevant political opinion.

Depends. A 20 yr old is perfectly capable of having passionate political views... maybe not the most well thought out but they can be passionate politically. 

 

 

It could be very interesting once any social media handles are identified.
