There are so many podcasts that do this.  I've quit many because they start with an ever-increasing chunk of time chuckling at each others bullshit.  Too many podcasts are turning into talk-radio.  An

I don't listen to lawyers on principle and this furthers my understanding of wh I do not.

My first job after I graduated was working for a major corporate law firm in Canada. I joined the marketing department.

I was in charge of maintaining lawyers website bios. Just that minor dealing with the lawyers was enough to convince me to never work in an office again.

Both Carthon/Callahan have previously said there were 3 guys they coveted in this draft that they weren't trading away from they were Alt/Nabers/Latham (they have also previously declared there love for Harrison Jr but stated he was never a realistic option to get to pick #7), Carthon mentioned once again in this chat they were happy with any of those 3 guys who fell to them.

He never said that it was Nabers and he also refused to say on the air who the third guy was.

Maybe it’s just me but I have a really hard time thinking that they would take a WR and just settle for the best remaining LT at 38 while punting on solving the NT/IDL issue until day 3.

He has previously said the 3 were Alt/Nabers/Latham so when he refers to the 3 Nabers is part of that.

Carthon has explained the teams plans/thoughts numerous times post draft.

- They knew the top 4 were going to be the 3 QB's and Harrison Jr (who they loved).

- To them the draft started at the Chargers pick at #5 they thought the Chargers were taking a OT but weren't 100% sure whether it was going to be Alt or Latham.

- Had the Chargers taken Latham they were of the belief like Schefter reported the Giants would of taken Alt.

- Carthon has said they coveted 3 players (Alt/Nabers/Latham) and were comfortable with any of them at pick #7.

- Carthon has also said they were never close to trading back from pick #7.

When Carthon refers to being comfortable with any of the 3 he is talking about Alt/Nabers/Latham.

Again, he never said anything about Nabers.  If he did then post the quote.  It certainly wasn’t in that podcast.

He doesn't need to keep naming Nabers as one of the 3 because he has done it previously.

Carthon has previously stated the team would of been ecstatic with any of the next three picks (5-7) and named Alt/Nabers/Latham.

I don’t know why he would refuse to say the third player on this podcast if he’d previously said that Nabers was one of the three.

Who knows maybe doesn't want to take the focus away from Latham being the guy they actually picked.

When talking about the top of the draft he has consistently separated the top 4 picks as guys that were out of reach and they couldn't get and then discussed the next 3 picks (5-7 Alt/Nabers/Latham) as a block of players that they would be ecstatic with whichever way it fell.

It is also fair to say with everything we have heard from both Carthon and Callahan post draft and with the Ridley signing they would of drafted Alt/Latham ahead of Nabers if given the choice.

Another tiny snippet from the podcast I found interesting was Carthon's comments about once he has made his mind up about drafting a player that is it there is no shifting him, I do wonder if that was the case in the 2nd round with T'Vondre Sweat and no trade offer was going to get him to budge him from sticking and picking.
