I think George Conway could be on to something. His theory is that Trump makes liberals angry and thats makes conservatives happy so they turn a blind eye to the rest. it lines up with the own the libs no matter the costs strat because thats what Right Wing media has been pushing down their throats for 30+ years. he said liberals should focus on being less angry and just making fun of Trump. I think we are past that point but its an interesting point of view.

He's stayed pretty consistently in the middle at any current time in politics. Bernie pushed him left last primary and he's had to stick to that to keep the left support.    I agree though t

We all saw what happened.  There were crimes committed as evidenced by the convictions.  And its obvious that the intent of Trump's mob was to stop the inauguration of a duly elected president.

Watching the d day ceremony this am and it makes me sick we could elect trump who has no respect for our country or institutions. Whether you like Biden or not, the grace, humility, and honor he's dis

Speaking of Conway, who's been practically everywhere in news media these last few years, he also theorized that more visibility of Trump speaking off script, the more he will turn off the moderate electorate who will recall what a raving lunatic the guy can be.  Conway points to Trump's approval numbers tanking during his daily Covid 'briefings'.  Trump thought the TV ratings were great and reaffirming HIM (it's always about him), rather than the seriousness of the pandemic.

Everyone was watching to understand WTF was going on and here was Trump making a rambling fool of himself on a daily basis, on a topic where he thought he could wishcast the bad news away, while hundreds were dying every day.  Eventually Trump figured out what everyone else knows -- he's a loud idiot who happens to be in charge -- and he benched himself.

More Trump = more dissatisfaction, and more recall of just how incapable he is and exposes his transparently boorish ways of deflecting from his deficiencies.

MSM has Been holding a lot of water for that corpse.

it’s funny that WSJ was referred to as a “hit piece” and that someone was looking for confirmation that a Republican lied to say he was “slipping”.

it’s just more proof on top of the 3+ years of proof that everyone has, except behind closed doors apparently.

Former President Donald Trump's return to Capitol Hill on Thursday was marked by him insulting the host of the upcoming Republican convention, fantasizing about a relationship with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and, according to one report, alienating business leaders who came away from a meeting worried about his mental capacity.

Andrew Sorkin, a financial columnist for The New York Times, told CNBC he received "surprise" feedback from a group of executives who met with the presumptive Republican nominee. The meeting reportedly included the likes of JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon and Apple CEO Tim Cook, according to CNBC.

Trump “could not keep a straight thought" and "was all over the map," some executives told Sorkin. That "may be not surprising," he said, "but it was interesting to me because these were people who I think might have been predisposed to him and actually walked out of the room less predisposed to him.”
Although Trump, in public comments later Thursday, asserted that inflation "is killing everybody" (the rate has been under 3.5% since 2022), he confounded economic experts by proposing an “all tariff policy" in a meeting with lawmakers that would result in massive price increases for consumers.

Despite his increasingly incoherent proposals, Trump has nonetheless garnered support from billionaire donors, recently promising oil and gas executives that he would throw out the Biden administration's environmental regulations in exchange for their support.

at least it’s in front of the world.

This video was cropped to attempt to make it look like he was wondering around and talking to no one. Not the case whatsoever.

And if you think the dude, who IS old, is walking around mumbling and slobbering & they are somehow mostly covering it up you are a fucking retard.

Like you really, ACTUALLY think that Biden was shuffling over talking to air? Seriously that's stupid as shit to believe.

The Right Wing is so much better at the internet than the Dems. considering most nerds vote democrat it doesn't make sense.

I don't think this is the case. You are appealing to two dramatically different audiences, including one who is consuming online discourse at a dramatically lower level.

Sorry but you are wrong. The GOP and the RNC have been light years ahead of their counterparts when it comes to digital outreach and tapping into social media to push false narratives and stoke division and hate.

Outrage and lies sell better than the truth.

Honestly do think a good part of it is this dynamic.

Democrats, generally, seem to hold each other to account for the truth and punish and shun liars whereas Republicans don't and so what you end up with is one party having carte blanche to do and say whatever the fuck they want, to lie and play to whatever might stick, to manipulate without qualms and that works really well in social media. The other party has to try to tailor accurate messaging in an effective way and legitimately appeal to people on principle, which is hard and often the principles in play conflict with eachother.

Plus, I think they're bad at messaging on top of the handicap. But, even if you disagree with that ... the two parties play very different games.
