Trump Indicted in Florida

This is good news for Trump because most of the primaries will be over by May 20.  But it's terrible news for republicans in general, because if he is conviced, republicans will be too scared to dump him at the convention.  He will threaten them with telling his voters to sit out the Nov. election.  They will be stuck with him.

I'm tired of hearing from Bill Barr. He covered for Trump's criminality and lied his ass off about the Mueller report and investigation, Fuck him

His campaign started out as "Lock her up", hilarious

A few points   Trump signed into law stricter rules on the handling of classified docs, just to stick it to Hillary. It's now a felony vs a misdemeanor. You showed her!   Also when

It's a huge win for Trump, IMO.

With virtually zero chance of proving innocence,  Trump's only chance of avoiding prosecution is to win the election so he can pardon himself.

This has been the focus of defense team's strategy....and as such, they've been pushing to delay proceedings every step of the way;   Judge Cannon's ruling gets them ten months closer to their goal.

Can they drag things out to make the hearings last 6+ months?   Entirely possible....especially considering Judge Cannon's history of being overly deferential to the defense's wishes.

But even if they can't drag it out and end up losing...the defense can easily keep the case tied up in appeals until after the election.

A late May start date effectively guarantees that Trump will get his wish:  instead of his guilt or innocence being determined in a court of law, it will be left up to voters to decide whether Trump is held accountable for his actions or if he'll be allowed to give himself a free pass.

Regardless of the date of the trial it was always going to be appealed. The man has already been convicted of sexual assault and his support with Republicans has increased after that verdict. He was never going to jail before the election. It was always going to come down to the voters.

I'm hoping Trump wins the primary. He can go to jail after his humiliating defeat and then maybe the Republicans can do with him what they did to Bush.

Come March or April, Trumps lawyers will be slow boating things so much that they'll ask for another delay... then another... then they'll try to push it until after the election.

I'm not too worried about it bc there are other indictments coming that won't go through that judge.

It would be lovely to watch Trump go to jail but I don't think it happens.  I think he has a better chance of winning reelection than actually serving a day behind bars.

He has to and Jack Smith knows this.

At this point it's a very real possibility, he does some kind of time.

He has little chance of winning the election
