The tweets that Taibbi posted Biden campaign asked to be removed were all nude pics of Hunter. Taibbi never posted that they asked to censor anything about Ukraine or even the story generally.

 

If you're claiming first amendment violations, it would matter if it was the actual government or not.

 

Still, not sure that the Trump WH pointing out tweets that violate Twitters TOS is a 1A violation, but the point is the hypocrisy of complaining about the Biden campaign doing it and ignoring the Trump admin doing it.

Based on @reo assessment about how Musk wastes resources just ad-hoc testing stuff, excepting much failure versus proper planning, this might grow into a story that engulfs him.   There is probably some overlap, maybe a lot, between his loony fans base and animal welfare, and he will have many groups going after him, and it might be illegal.

As an example, not sure if I've told this story but I will anyway just in case I haven't.

 

So until recently, I did aerodynamic testing at the largest wind tunnel in the world (I recently switched to propulsion testing). About a year-ish before I started SpaceX was there for some wind tunnel data that NASA was requiring from SpaceX to get one of their contracts. Elon didn't give a shit about the data. He was just trying to check a box for NASA so he could get the contract. He was going to blow up rockets in live fire tests anyway.

 

So he had this 22-23 yr old fresh out of college engineer leading the test for SpaceX's side.. which is insane. He knew nothing about testing much less wind tunnel testing. And he was on the phone w/ Elon every other minute giving updates where Elon would basically say.. I don't give a shit. Get it done so I can check a box. The kid worked 48 hrs straight in the control room. Then took a quick nap in the customer room and came back on shift for the next 24 hrs to finish the test.

 

That's SpaceX. That's Elon.

He is an old school robber baron. He's the reason unions exist. 

 

He can get away w/ it to a certain degree at SpaceX and to a lesser degree at Tesla b/c it's a field where those workers are passionate about what they do. ie Engineers want to go to Mars and they'll work long hours to make it happen.

 

That's not the case at Twitter.

 

But it also very possibly might be the case that he didn't actually buy Twitter to build the company into anything and his profit is coming from some more political right wing source... but that's just a guess based on the things he's done so far w/ the platform.

Search for "bank" and "twitter."   It is no secret, he has told multiple groups, including Twitter that he plans to turn it into a bank. 

 

He is a Trump - thin skinned and insecure.  He frequently lets it slip that he is still hurt by the principals of Paypal kicking him out.  It is probably as simple as a "I will show them" revenge attitude at work.

There were rumors a while back that he wanted to turn it into a "one stop shop do-it-all" type app like China has. I think that's very possible but I'm not ruling out the possibility that he's also getting paid to do what he's doing by another source as a secondary goal.

Realistically, I don’t think he can turn Twitter into a do it all company. I mean, he can offer all of those services through Twitter, but other than the Musk cultists no one is going to join in.
 

China can effectively force people to do that because they can limit what options are available to Chinese citizens. That’s not really possible in America. And while Twitter is a pretty big company, they would need to be the size of Apple or Google or Amazon to pull that off or anything approaching it.
