They'd shut down the government and run phony Hunter investigations

It would no longer benefit them to go after Hunter after the election. They would find something else to "investigate". The Dems will do the exact same thing if they have control and Trump somehow wins; there will just happen to be substance to them because Trump is Trump, but they would do it regardless of who the President was; that's the nature of politics in DC now.

If Trumps wins the Republicans will likely control the Senate and House both and they'll protect Trump from any investigations and cover ups crimes like his first term

At least until the midterms. But yeah, it's the same thing. Regardless, the point stands. Many business people would prefer a government that basically halts for four years than to deal with a strong progressive coalition or an unchecked Trump.

It’s not “the nature of politics”. It’s just the GOP…

Give us examples of how the Dems play the same games as the GOP.

You claim both sides do it, so give examples of where the Dems have done things akin to the trumped up investigations into Hunter Biden, or the impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden, or the hearings into Hillary Clinton's handing of Benghazi, or the impeachment of Mayorkas, or various government shutdowns and shutdown threats over the years, or threats to not raise the debt ceiling, or whatever Republican bullshit they always do that you claim is “both sides”…

Seriously? You're trying to pretend like the Dems don't use investigations and reports to weaken their political rivals? You believe the Jan 6th committee was about justice or preventing something like that from happening? Play the victim dum dum games with someone else. I don't have the patience for it.

January 6th Committee was by nature political because it was an attempt to stop the transition of power singularly by one party and for first time in history....I don't see the similarities.

No one does.  It's a forced perspective to prove a flawed point.  In this case the point is, "both sides".

Don't have the patience for it? You are straight up wrong. This is complete and utter bullshit. More "both sides" horseshit. False equivalency nonsense.

This is the kind of shit that gets said because you refuse to call Republicans out for their sedition.
