9.1 % inflation was bad but some context is required.  First, it was the number for June and then annualized and compared to last year.  Half of that 9.1%  increase was due to the cost of gas.

Now, that cost of gas/oil is outdated.  On June 1st the cost of a barrel of oil was $115 a barrel.  Then on June 9th it spiked to $121.  As of this AM, it's $95. You can see the price decline at the pump from last month. All those numbers are available at Yahoo finance.

And it's not just oil.  If you look at other commodity prices like lumbar, cotton, wheat, etc., they are all in decline.

Core inflation wasn’t good either

@LongTimeFan, Explain how you think that inflation is important when discussing Biden when many countries around the entire world are experiencing historical inflation completely unrelated to the US.

Legit have a conversation, not some deflection please... Voting doesn't matter one bit to me, I want to know why you think Biden has contributed to national inflation specifically

Again. I merely posted a fact. Seems you are very defensive of you dear leader.

I'm curious out of the sake of conversation because conservatives like to point out that one of the reasons Biden is doing such a terrible job is because unprecedented inflation. I want to know if you feel the same and why you think Biden has contributed to our national inflation.

It's a simple question, whether or not it's related at all to your 9.1 statistic.

He can't even do that. Even with his pointing out high inflation in a thread specifically about Biden he tries to worm his way out of any accountability and intention or educated conversation by saying "I was just pointing out a fact" and doesn't actually want to say that it's due to Biden because he knows it's not.

If he actually thought high national inflation was due to Biden and not related to the global issues that are plaguing economies around the entire world he would have said why instead of just the broadest fact he can point out to avoid context.

Nice try, but today's inflations numbers do not include energy.  You're just regurgitating Biden's lies.

"There are three inflation indexes: the consumer price index (CPI), the wholesale price index (WPI), and the Producer Price Index (PPI). The CPI is a measure that examines the weighted average prices of primary needs—such as transportation, food, and medical care—at the consumer/retail level."

"Cost-push inflation — Occurs as a result of the increase in the cost of production. For example, if the raw materials used to create a product increase in price, the price for the final good rises as producers pass their costs on to the consumer."

Explain to me how energy isn't baked into inflation
