Suggesting that the offense would be better had we hired a coach like Reich should be a foolish statement at this point. I think Vrabel is struggling due to offensive coaching and execution, as well as losing a reliable kicker. The HC is not the problem (we could have won the last game easily if the players execute FGs and TD passes). The staff may need some tweeking but even that isn't 100% the issue. Right now the OL needs to man up and we can't shake Mariota as our QB. Unless things get better on the OL it won't matter if Tannehill is put in there. That same Bill's defense made Brady look like a 6th round rookie. Well, the way things have gone for Cousins the past couple of years, maybe DeFilipo was not the problem. At any rate, he name was bandied about here a lot in that time frame. Oh, and maybe Mariota, not LaFleur, was the problem. LaFleur is 3-1 and Arron Jones just ran for 107 against the Cowboys. He wants to establish the run and play physical. He believes he's the problem with the offensive philosophy. I've suspected this going back to last year as well. He clearly lied Have been voicing my concerns about Vrabel since I heard that interview with Arthur Smith a couple of weeks ago where he stated he doesn't even start putting the game plan together until Vrabel outlined the offensive philosophy for the week. There is real fears that changing the QB next year won't have the dramatic change to the offense many are hoping for if Vrabel is still interfering with the offensive game plan. I cringe every time I see the wildcat knowing damn well Vrabel is responsible. It's what I also suspected about Mariota as well. He cares more about not turning the ball over than being aggressive and scoring points. He might not even see Mariota as a problem. Plus he's mobile. These defensive head coaches love mobile QBs. He clearly lied How much of the problem is MM's execution and how much Vrabel's conservative philosophy? The thought of this entire offense catering to keep Mariotas zero interception stat alive has crossed my mind and would make sense as it really does appear that way. Super low risk conservative.
