LOL  Cohen isn't going up on appeal, he's admitting guilty and going to jail for three years.  This is a serious felony, but go ahead and keep telling yourself there is nothing to this.

It's even stranger for an accused to win on appeal after a guilty plea.  LOL  but that little earl's scenario because the violation of campaign finance law in this case wasn't really a felony.  Think

It's going to get much worse for them.

You do know you can’t appeal a plea, right? They ask you, under oath, that you are entering into it freely, voluntarily, and knowingly. Leave the legal talk to real lawyers.

If nothing else, this whole ordeal is giving many Americans a long overdue re-introduction to basic civics, and how the branches of government work, especially the judiciary.

I realize some of this is technical that only lawyers would or should care about. But people are out there, even on TV, indicating fundamental misunderstandings of basic legal concepts.

Agreed, along with an overdue re-introduction to giving af about politics in general, and for sure the bedrock principle of checks and balances -- thank god for a competently functioning judiciary branch.

During one of the debates, Trump kept mentioning that Clinton did not accomplish anything in 30 years in government. I kept waiting for her to seize the moment and lecture him on his lack of understanding on the branches of the government. That  a FLOTUS cannot pass legislation without Congress. This is not a dictatorship.

I was expecting her to lecture him on the roles of the branches of government , her initiatives as FLOTUS and how much she worked for children's healthcare while he was playing a TV celebrity.  Instead she stood there with a stupid grin on her face and totally missed the opportunity to stop that line of attack and drive the point that elementary kids had a better understanding of basic civics.

It was a missed opportunity and in the next debate, she was prepared and started talking about some of the things she accomplished in Arkansas and the work she did for the Children's Defense Fund. Unfortunately, her response came off as robotic, scripted and rehearsed. It's at that point, I realized she could be prepared as possible, but was a step slow in responding to unexpected or unscripted attacks from Trump.

It has to be proven that Trump knew what he did was criminal. In this case, ignorance is a defense.....his only defense.  All the other elements are easy to prove.

Edit:  Just saw a 2012 fox news clip of Trump discussing the John Edwards case. Any defense of not knowing the law and what was criminal is out the window.  He really has no defense.
