Cam Ward analysis heading into year two
smokeater replied to OILERMAN's topic in Titans and NFL Talk
Ward definitely is the type of QB you give all the time in the world to develop. The GM and coaches need to shut out all the outside bs which I believe Borgo and Saleh are capable of doing. He has the head to be a top 5 or better, which is the opposite of most of the early draft retards since McNair. His mechanical issues are correctable. As team talent continues to build and the game continues to slow down for him, the success and wow plays will emerge. He’s no sure thing, of course-no qb is, but the head he has on his shoulders (basically just not being a qb retard) makes him an odds on favorite to at least have a very high floor with a sky’s the limit ceiling. -

The lateral motion and just sheer foot speed will have him starting over Barton in short order. -

Good feet, set, and balance. Plays to the whistle and can maul a bit too. Impressive first look for a rook.

Best case scenario is mayo boy pulls a couple Atlantas in preseason and multiple guys go down in preseason or first couple games of regular season. -
Stillman and the Sanders outplayed Ward take
smokeater replied to EC34's topic in Titans and NFL Talk
Normal people watch and talk about train wrecks from a distance. Sanders is a 42 car derailing full of petrochemicals and hydrofluoric acid. What’s hilarious is watching the dullards stand on the side of the tracks willing and ready to take a hazardous materials facial from the worst poser of a “qb” since ever. They’re actually dumber than cowboy fans….holy shit!! -

Who are we most excited about in training camp this year?
smokeater replied to titansfan's topic in Titans and NFL Talk
Borgo definitely has some work he can do there. The problem is if they’re any good at all on the OL, by this point they’re usually all signed up. The main concern, obviously, is Cams health. -

There’s no doubt the OL is now the glaring big issue. It will be a problem, period. The ceiling is mediocrity which would give the team a fighting chance at the playoffs. The floor is, well, really bad or worse or even worse than that or…. -

Seriously interested in what JFM can do to get JS one on ones and create absolute havoc in the opposing backfield. -
So he’s a rb too. I wonder how much, if any, production you would lose from the position if you used 0 roster spots for rb specialist and then used those spots for more LB’s, safeties, and cb’s who would then in turn each rake a series at rb on the offense. You could have better special teams and injuries would be less of an issue as you have more bodies to choose from at a less important position.

Malik is gone. Dolphins 3yr, 67M contact, 45M gtd.

Titans just might make the playoffs if we can just get a few more teams on the schedule tanking. -
Exterior bracing pillars are definitely too small in diameter and do they even see the giant hole in the roof with the exterior walls being held together with sewing thread? Very shaky.

No matter how you care to slice it now, Borgo is big man on campus no ifs, ands, or buts. As long as that’s the case, I’m not sure I care about anything else in the front office. That’s exactly where you’re supposed to put all your nepo, etc hires. Borgo seems to be spending Amy’s money as he see fits with apparently no blow back. That’s all any of us can ask for.

SOB, I’m stealing “cockcertainty.” That’s just too dam good. I am quite cockcertainly glad there can be discussion here on the dregs of the roster now that we’re seeing some cockcertain real talent creep in to the most important starting positions. It’s almost a cockcertainty the team will be competitive in 2026.

Buck Reising install with Greg Cossell and Mike Borgonzi
smokeater replied to NashvilleNinja's topic in Titans and NFL Talk
Agreed, and I still believe a good starting qb is the best and easiest way to make a playoff run every year. The caveat to that is that you don’t need pro bowlers at every other position to make that happen, but you do need at least NFL starting talent at most positions. Ran got us good, but it did lead to Cam, so… -
Buck Reising install with Greg Cossell and Mike Borgonzi
smokeater replied to NashvilleNinja's topic in Titans and NFL Talk
As far as the accumulating draft picks philosophy, we’ll probably have to wait one to two more drafts to see if that will become part of Borgo’s system in the future. This team was so bereft of NFL talent that he has had to draft more for need(WR, DE, LB) until the rebuild is done. I think having a qb with little talent around him is what really drives home the pick for need philosophy right now. As far as OL(can’t do it all in one draft) he will probably still have to draft for need next year over accumulating picks unless a couple of these late round guys seriously show out. Once he has starting NFL talent at most every position, I think we may see some drop backs to accumulate picks and then we’ll see him punk some of these idiot GM’s that shouldn’t be in those spots. This is all what I’m hoping for anyway. -
Borgonzi is running the football part of the team which is all that really matters. Brinkers spot is the perfect place for a nepo hire if that’s what Amy wants to do. This is a big nothing burger.
-
Hilarious. That absolutely has to happen.
-
ST guy. Started out as a LB.
-
My 2 cents on drafting guys early that don’t have the physical measurements. What I worry about with guys like Bain that have lacking physical attributes is their longevity of any success. Maybe he’s pretty good for a year or two but as soon as he loses a tenth of a step or starts getting those chronic NFL nagging type injuries his success falls off exponentially to the point of hurting the team. He doesn’t have the physical attributes to fall back on and still have a modicum of success when things are not absolutely 1000% clicking, and everything not clicking happens a lot in these ever longer NFL seasons.

Titans Free Agency Period Signings Thread.

They had a few good players on those crap teams and those are the ones we got, or at least that’s what I’m telling myself.
