READ IT AND WEEP... or nod your head "of course"! “Once I made the decision, I was like, ’I can’t sit on it. I’ve got to go ahead and do it to be fair to Jon.′ I don’t know how many weeks we have left in the season. There could be a lot more hopefully in our season, and it just didn’t seem like the right thing to do to drag this along.” and "Strunk said she couldn’t ignore the holes on a roster that has used 76 different players this season after setting an NFL-record with 91 different players last season." -- Titans Owner Amy Adams Strunk

Doing it now might just kick-start a struggling team and it gives J-Rob a head-start on pursuing other jobs. Actually, it's a favor to him given that she was going to pull the plug.

Instead he went the cheap route unnecessarily and it cost him 1st, 2nd, 3rd picks, and multiple QB pressures to solve what did not need to be a problem. Yeah, the trade-up cost a 2nd and a 3rd. The OT taken with our original pick, Taylor Decker, is still a Lion's starter and certainly far better than anything we have.

No way in HELL Mike Munchak doesn't get more out of Radunz and numerous others than Carter has gotten. Fair enough, but the draft is next up after a probable one-and-done in the playoffs. Draft preparation is now.

Wife and I both had it across her birthday weekend in late July-- a few days feeling it and a couple of weeks to shake the residual congestion. Just decided that there are too many unreasonable people back here to spend so much time. Still love my Titans. Miss the good guys and the good debate for sure. - TheBukafax, CreepingDeath, big2033, and 3 others

FIRST POST OF THE SEASON! LOL. Apologies accepted from all who ridiculed my criticism of J-Rob. Not too often that Top 5 GMs get canned mid-season. J-Rob did generally elevate the roster and I was rooting for him, but his expensive strategies and his Round 1 failures cost him. As a local kid who got his dream job, I was rooting for him but....

The lockout sure did hurt Dalton and Newton right? More excuses. but weren't those guys the #1 QB on their respective teams from the get-go? They got the reps where Locker did not. I think that matters a lot.

My comment was more about the TV commentary than the execution. Dan Dierdorf was saying that they should just forget about even trying a field goal as soon as they got possession. iirc that play was really more on the new holder

When that Seattle placekicker got rocked and had to miss that chip shot attempt at the end of the first half, the announcers on TV were making a big fuss about how meaningful that event was. All I could think about was the time that Craig Hentrich had to fill in in a pinch as a placekicker and NAILED a 50-yarder... on his first attempt as I recall.

In my opinion, one good year does not make for a good pick. Good picks are guys that play for our team for ~7 or more years. If they make the squad for that long, they are doing something right-- this is known as the Thompson-Nickey Axiom. Yeah Laboy was very good in 2007 and it helped earn him a contract with Arizona in 2008. And Holmes got a decent deal with the Giants in the early 2000's.

Oilers drafted a guy, Doug Wilkerson, in Round One and they traded him to San Diego early in his rookie year. IIRC, Wilkerson started for the Chargers for a decade or so and I can't even tell you who we got in return. Have to look it up...

There's a couple more that I made quick notes on but they are so forgettable that I can't even read my own chicken scratch. One was "Q Jones." How could Nunley not be on the list. He didn't get hurt, yet was so bad he only managed to get 1 assist in his short career.

Some of the WORST unmentioned (I believe): Three rounds only. 1 Kenny Holmes, DE 1 Henry Ford, DE 1 Mike Dumas, CB 1 Alonzo Highsmith, RB 2 Tank Williams, SS 2 Travis LaBoy, DE 2 Richard Byrd, DE 2 Jeremy Nunley, DE 2 Jonathan Layman, OG 2 Bryant Mix, DT 2 Anthony Cook, DE 3 Rennie Curran, LB 3 Rocky Calmus, LB 3 Shad Meier, TE 3 Byron Fritsch, DE 3 Willis Peguese 3 Malcolm Seabron, WR Other BEST.... 1 Ray Childress, DT 1 Lamar Lathon, LB 1 Haywood Jeffires, WR 2 Akeem Ayers, OLB 2 Michael Barrow, ILB 2 Erron Kinney, TE 2 Samari Rolle, CB 2 Ernest Givens, WR 2 Harvey Salem, OT 2 Eddie Robinson, LB 3 Bubba McDowell, SS 3 Johnny Meads, OLB

I remember reading somewhere the Oilers really liked Favre, and it came down to him and Bo Orlando I believe..and they chose Bo. Does anyone else remember reading this? Ouch. That one hurts.

This is a painful exercise. I looked back at all the Oiler/Titan drafts back through the 80s. Surprise #1-- hard to find many of our third round picks who were worth a damn. I've got only two who were noteworthy (Bubba McDowell and Johnny Meads) out of roughtly 32 selection. No-surprise #2-- we drafted Mike Munchak (1982-RD1-8th), Bruce Matthews (1983-RD1-9th), Harvey Salem (1983-RD2-8th) and Dean Steinkuhler (1984-RD1-2nd).... I'll add my Best Worst later. Gotta go.

No, I think it is Strunk recognizing her Jon Robinson tendencies and correcting them before they get up an even bigger head of steam.
