I guess I am just dumbfounded that those people actually exist in huge numbers (enough for these types of stories to be a thing even a decade later) compared to corners of the internet or telltale stories of a friend of an uncles friend.

I get all that stuff but deed to your house (good luck with that being the norm) and photographers getting properly credited (even though if someone is going to use an image for something and not credit the photographer they could still do that just as easily as now) are IMO the only useful thing you mentioned that don't have answers currently. Everything else is already being done in ways that are much easier and widely adopted. Medical Records, and other secure documents certainly could have their use but at the end of the day how much would it help with privacy/security issues? How many people run into issues because counterfeit medical records? It's not like adding medical records to the blockchain would enhance the privacy aspect of the medical records because there still will be paper records and access from pharmacies/hospitals. NFTs would essentially just verify them I assume but I'm legitly curious what issues are currently happening where it's an issue that needs "solving". Even though you did acknowledge that a lot of the projects are just based on hype and more of a emerging thing so don't have much use, which is my point... I haven't seen anything yet to convince me NFTs are something that should even be remotely adopted by the masses.

I've never met anyone in real life who has ever referenced Alex Jones or Infowars relating to anything real or important whatsoever, and a good portion of my friends and my entire family are right wing so it's not like I barricade myself into an echo chamber. I am just surprised that anyone's actually dumb enough to get caught up in that type of shit. No one with half a brain sees the joke newspapers at the grocery check out and relays that information in real conversation.

I guess I'll just need to wait and see anything of value being used by the masses via NFT. But saying it will solve things that aren't remotely conceptually possible isn't really anymore convincing. I'm sure there are uses for it, but as I said, anything actually being implemented is just trash or already being utilized by other easy to use tools currently adopted by the masses. As you mentioned though, it will just take time for those scams to ever not poison the entire concept.

I don't think of it as shitty art. I literally just said that any practical functional use that has been implemented (obviously not referring to shitty art) solves an issue in a much more complicated way that's currently not even a problem.

Of course. NFTs more than crypto in general. It's all about the idea of how much money you can make. The functionality from what I can tell with an NFT solves an issue that was never a problem in the first place. I get the functionality that NFTs CAN have, but pretty much any instance I have seen of them actually being put into use is already answered somewhere else on a more mainstream level with just as little effort/convenience.

It's not worth looking through this thread but do any of the crypto nuts here support NFTs? Listening to some video game podcast and they're talking about how how luckily companies are backing away from that nonsense and curious if anyone here tries to convince themselves they are remotely useful.

What a cavalier take on the issue without thinking of any real world consequences. Not going to pay for any of that so can't actually read the article but playing a support role from the sideline is far from acting weak and scared. Not wanting to jump directly into a conflict and make a bigger mess is a position that many countries realize is likely the smarter position to take.

You and that other guy both conveniently forgot about the introduction to social media to society and how everything that has always been on at least some people's minds can now be projected directly to the company, management, investors, parents, society in general..... He can't even do that. Even with his pointing out high inflation in a thread specifically about Biden he tries to worm his way out of any accountability and intention or educated conversation by saying "I was just pointing out a fact" and doesn't actually want to say that it's due to Biden because he knows it's not. If he actually thought high national inflation was due to Biden and not related to the global issues that are plaguing economies around the entire world he would have said why instead of just the broadest fact he can point out to avoid context.

I'm curious out of the sake of conversation because conservatives like to point out that one of the reasons Biden is doing such a terrible job is because unprecedented inflation. I want to know if you feel the same and why you think Biden has contributed to our national inflation. It's a simple question, whether or not it's related at all to your 9.1 statistic.
