I get what you are saying and likely agree with you when it comes to looking at rail travel from a mass commuter or recreational level but the logic behind it is so self fulfilling. No shit people won't use an antiquated system by the masses when it's just so fucking inconvenient in every possible facet. There's a trolley that was built for some godforsaken reason here in Milwaukee that is nothing but an inconvenience. It's literally free to use but I don't use it (and don't know anyone who does) on my daily commute because at best it saves me a couple minutes on my walk across downtown to work. My friend lived on one end of it and worked on the other end of the line so he was as optimal of a demographic as you will ever see but because of the delays, inconsistency and inconvenience he just never used it more than half a dozen times. When the trolley gets more built up and goes to areas that it makes sense to use the system then I will change my tune on it being a completely uselesss waste of money but that opinion is based entirely on the state it's currently in. Of course train travel is going to be used minimally when everything about it's current state of the infrastructure is how it currently is.

I'm surprised it's that high... 6300 people willing to throw thousands of dollars a year to a team that has frankly been absolutely horrific for a couple different stretches with very little to be optimistic that it would turn around sooner than later to be hopeful that those thousands in the bad years would pay off compared to just snowball. It's actually impressive we probably have a decent record relative to the rest of the league in that 25-ish year span seeing as we've had 2 short-lived QBs to hang our hat on and build around for more than a transitional period.

IMO it all comes down to how dumb people are with the defund the police propoganda against Barnes and how he does combating the sentiment. At one point a long time ago Barnes said something about how funding for whatever the hell it was could come from the polices "bloated" budget and naturally everyone is running with it so all the campaigns ads are about that. I read somewhere that WI has a nearly $5B surplus but it's republicans here that are blocking it being spent, which obviously is true because republicans here still run the show even with Evers winning his race. Does it really shock anyone that major Republicans here and the WI Supreme Court get in the way of actual progress to try prove a political point? I was at dinner last night with my parents and because I've had to deal with the police a lot in the past week and a half my mom's response was "well, at least there still are police officers here" obviously because she believes that Barnes would somehow get rid of the cops in this broke ass city of Milwaukee.
