I wrote a paper early on in college about why the filibuster should be eliminated - my opinion hasn't changed over the years. Make them eliminate it. The filibuster is the reason for a lot of the problems that wrought the rise of Trump in the first place.

That's my point though - they're not plugged into politics - but they'll start feeling the affects when a lot of them don't have jobs or food to eat. Maybe your premise is right though - I am admittedly tired of caring about the well-being of a large swath of people who don't have the sense to care for themselves. I just can't wrap my head around why Dems would make themselves complicit in the actions of this federal government by voting in favor of funding it, under any circumstances really, as the minority party.

@tgo you continue to overestimate the electorate. Most Americans are stupid and not plugged into politics. They aren't as informed as you are. The existential threat to democracy angle doesn't resonate with them nor will red rural America wake one day and stop supporting Trump. Look at farmers. He fucked them over hard-core in his first term a d they mostly voted for him again. We are cooked as a Nation. Right wing media and the billionaires have taken over. Nothing to do now but life your life and hope the fever breaks at some point or that the next Trump doesn't captivate the masses.

Keep in mind.....the entire Trump/MAGA worldview is "us vs them": you're either with Trump...or you're the enemy. Trump is constantly making references to "the enemy from within" for those who dare to oppose or disagree with the Trump/MAGA agenda. In Trump's mind, "the enemy" includes all Democrats and those who lean that way.... roughly half of all Americans. So we have a sitting POTUS who not only disrespects and refuses to represent half of all Americans....he views them as enemies to be crushed and destroyed. You think he's gonna share military briefings with the enemy?

They have a QB and GM, imo. That's the foundation. They need a competient HC to complete the trifecta. As I posted before, they have 7 starting holes (not counting upgrades) in the starting lineup....RG, WR, RB, DL (Day is a FA), OLb, 2 CBs. Maybe 8 spots if you want to go with 2 WRs. They have 3 day 1 or 2 picks, maybe more if there is a trade down. It's possible they get a immediate starter at the top of the 4th. Borgonzi needs to find 3-4 day 1 starters in free agency. Not impossible. Plenty of cap space for that and to upgrade roster depth. They might have to overpay for the starters.
