LPFieldTitan Posted March 13 Report Share Posted March 13 (edited) With the unveiling of the new Titans uniforms of course Texans fans are crying again. Why after nearly 30 years of the Oilers leaving Houston do the fans of the Texans still have so much animosity. I was like 10 in 1997, so maybe I am missing something. But from my understanding Bud Adams wanted the city to help him get a new stadium, the city refused so he moved. How are fans mad at the Titans franchise? Seems they should be mad at the city. Of course this has once again become a hot topic. I just find it funny they don't do what they can to keep the Oilers, the Astrodome was falling apart. They seem to have found the funds to build the Texans a brand new stadium like 5 years later. Seems to me the fans are mad at the wrong folks. Maybe someone here has more insider knowledge but can fill in the blanks. I am curious as to why fans are still angry 30 years later . They should've thought about the consequences when they refused to build the stadium and forced their hand. The city was coming off decades of sports embarrassment on the big stage and the Oilers bore the brunt of it when the city and its fans cracked. Fuck them. I wanted them to stay but Bud pissed so many people off, when he announced plans for a new stadium he did the pr himself and he played fiddlesticks with the model on live tv, it was really bad. It was a stadium where the end zone stands contracted so that you could host basketball games as well and he didn't have the support of the rockets owner. epic fail. Their arguments have no legs to stand on, when you point it out they just get more pissed. My last comment was y'all built a stadium with a retractable roof, an extra $300 million, which you've only opened 3 times for a football game. Ok maybe not 3 but it was x waste of money. Recent Openings: The roof was opened in 2020 for the first time in six years. It was also opened for a few select games in 2021 and 2022, including vs. Seattle in 2021 and against the Bears in 2024.
