The Jets might actually prefer Bain at 2. I read that Glenn wants bigger DE since their (smallish) DE got mauled this year vs the run.

They could. I have no idea what the Jets are going to do. I feel like Borg/Brinker are going to want edge rushers like Karlaftis, Preston Smith, Rashan Gary, etc. Big guys with length which doesn't fit Bain or Bailey.

lol

The best compliment to Simmons is a pure edge guy who can pressure and force the QB to step up with Simmons collapsing the pocket

Fuck Charley Bing has discovered AI.

Those guys are all declining players outside of Karlaftis who isn’t available.

And we only have 2 DL on the roster and there are only a limited amount of high draft picks they have to improve the area.

You’re not fixing the pass rush problem with FA only. You can at least argue a WR in round 2 can give you just as much impact.

Bailey is not who he wants then

I'm talking about type of player, not saying we go after those guys. I don't think Bain or Bailey fit what they want at EDGE. That was my point.

Yes he is. 31 for a DE is not old. Look at Autry, Neil Smith, Charles Haley.  Borgo knows what a solid old DE can do.  It is just allocate the DE or WR at 4.  His choice.

Simpson looked like a potential #1 pick after the first few months.  I'm willing to bet that he'll have a great offseason and put himself in the conversation, if mostly because it's such a weak draft class.

I posted that Hendrickson was a potential home run signing weeks ago.  Still think that.  There are risks involved and legit questions whether Borgonzi would actually do it.

Seems like we would still need to address outside edge even if we did sign him. Would Borg sign him and then draft Bailey or Reese at 4 or after a trade back? I'm assuming that signing Hendrickson would signal they aren't drafting Bain.

I know Hendrickson had the monster sack seasons in 23 and 24, but is he still that player? He only had 4 sacks this year. We've gone the elder star player route numerous times... mostly at WR... and none of those panned out.

Titans have 5 front seven guys (counting Barton).  They need 7 starters, plus depth.  So they need 2 more guys just to start.

We don't know the basic scheme yet.  But to oversimplify, if they are running a 4-3, then they need 2 DL,  If they are running more of a 3-4, then they need a DE and an OLB.  What hasn't been mentioned here, is that if they are running a 4-3, then Femi also has experience as an off the ball LB.

Scheme fit matters.
