They aren’t intentionally trying to lose games but the FO is increasing their odds of getting a high pick via roster construction (or lack thereof).

I’m also not sure how Aussie sees us winning two games.  They can’t  really score or shut people down at all.  They are the worst at both areas.  At least some of these bad teams are ok in one of these areas.

Its likely more a law of averages than any faith in the team.

If not you may be entitled to compensation……

We dont need a guy tied for the 8th best pass rush win rate in the nfl? That includes edge rushers btw.  If you just compare him to his peers on the inside, he is a full 33% more efficient than the ne

It isn't just fans. More recently teams are losing the last game/s on purpose. The Bills 100% tried to lose to the Pats last year to keep NE from getting the top pick. TB lost on purpose to get the #1 pick when they drafted Winston. The Fins did it in 2019.

losing the last game is very different than tanking an entire season or half of it....

That's why he just traded Jones and McCreary?

because GMs take the long view. Not the same as actively trying to lose and go 1-16 to get the first pick.

Who know when it comes to draft position he's the most pessimistic fan in history.

He'll somehow post the strength of schedule after Sunday and say the Titans are in danger of sliding to 9th

No one said they should "actively try and lose games"

We're talking about what's better, getting the #1 pick or winning a few meaningless games

no. we were talking about Ward's development leading to a win or two vs the status quo of the team being terrible and going 1-16. I'd rather see Ward develop even if means a few wins and a lower draft pick.

Ward can show improvement in all facets and the team can still lose.  The defense is bad.  The kicker is not reliable.  The playcalling is questionable.

Games might be closer and Ward will prove his draft status to be correct.  Everyone wins (except in the win column).

Facts are 1 more win and they would be picking at #6 not #1 SOS absolutely matters in terms of determining the draft order.

Developing Ward, yes, winning games? no

Getting the #1 pick is important in terms of adding talent and roster building

IDeally you want Ward to show improvement in his development while also losing games.

I think this team might just be the one to do that because this defense isn't stopping anyone.

The other five 2 win teams are going to win some games because they play each other.

Do the Titans have the head to head tie breaker with the Raiders since the Titans lost that game?

The 2nd Colts game they pressured Daniel Jones at the highest rate of any team he had faced to that point in the season.

The 38-14 game?
