If she fires Brinker or Borgonzi in the next 2 years, everything fans and media claim about here will be true. That being said I don't get why firing Callahan when she did is looked at as some impatient reactionary decision. he 4-19 and the team was cratering more and more each week.

Not sure why you can't understand that most of us were not concerned about her firing Callahan but the meddling with stripping Callahan of playcalling, meddling with not trading Henry.  Plus, and it's just my opinion, but I think the odds are pretty good that she preferred to not clean house because of her money spend with 3 guys already on the dole and the stadium costs...

rumor is Amy was the one demanding all the wr screens

Why hire Brinker and give him total control over football decisions if you're going to meddle and make decisions like this.    She's just like her dad if this story is true and there is litt

It's 1 of 32. It is going to attract a quality candidate. The bears fired Matt Eberflus midseason and hired Ben Johnson.    This whole notion of "no one is going to want the job" is bullshit

That’s not meddling.  The owner always has a say when you want to trade a face of the franchise.

it’s happened in other sports with other owners

It's still a dumb move

I do not believe for 1 second she mandated Cally give up playcalling. I need someone more reputable than dumbass Terry to report on that.

I do believe she vetoed the Henry trade, which I agree was dumb because he was not coming back.

There were numerous people on this board who said don't draft either Wilson or Farley.

At least Wilson was healthy.  You should almost never draft a guy in a quick twitch position that's had back surgery.  And never high... Actually, you should probably never draft a guy with back injuries...

I don't have a particularly strong opinion on this but I suspect we are disagreeing on what exactly makes an owner cross over from merely being hands on to "meddling"? It seems like we don't have an agreed upon standard for this. Maybe we should establish a common/shared definition of what is meddlesome from an owner?

We did that already, some people are just stubborn

Firing the coach/overruling the GM - Not meddling

Striping play call duties from the HC - meddling

nixing a trade of a beloved star like henry - not meddling

The big issue is that many fans have this unrealistic expectation that an owner should never be involved in or overrule the football people.

Ask yourself this....who had motive to leak to Terry Mc. that AAS forced Callahan to give up play calling?

From his article.....A league source......It is believed from many within the staff

Personally, I'm 99% certain that it wasn't Brinker or Borgonzi.  Only an idiot would go passive/agressive like this on their boss and these guys aren't idiots.

Who???

That's meddling with the playcalling, even if it's from an overview standpoint. It sounds like bullshit.

Personally, I don't think Amy called them up and said "Callahan needs to give up play-calling". I do however believe that a conversation was had that indicated something had to change with Callahan and play-calling duties became that thing so indirectly, she stripped Callahan of play-calling duties. At least that's what makes sense to me.
