McCarthy was horrible in 7/8 quarters to start the year. Hes is incredibly raw, they may be better with Wentz right now.

Improvement goes hand-in-hand with experience.   The concern with McCarthy isn't whether he's capable of improvement, but whether he can stay on the field long enough to get the experience.

He missed his entire rookie season due to a season-ending injury in preseason.    In year 2, he lasted only two games before being sidelined for multiple weeks due to injury.

As the saying goes:  a player's most important ability is avail-ability.   McCarthy's sample size is quite small....but his availability has been almost nonexistent.    It won't matter how good he is if he can't stay on the field for more than 3-4 weeks at a time.

The injury aside McCarthy hasn't been good even when healthy.
