As for the Saints, I think the consensus is that they are playing Shough right now as an evaluation to determine if they need to draft a QB this year or not. 

If the front office wants more picks, they should aim for the #1 pick and hope there's a run away favorite QB that other teams will be willing to trade two 1st round picks for.  I'll have to look up Arvell Reese. A franchise Edge and Simmons would be great anchors to build our defense around. 

I hope Shough underperforms so that the Saints will also be in need for a QB.

Would be awesome if we got the #1 pick and traded down to the #3 pick (with the 2nd rounder or next year's 2nd rounder thrown in).  Then with the #3 pick, we trade down to a #5-8 pick (with the addition of another 2nd rounder this year or next).  I think that would be the most optimal position to be in.  

Not sure I'm being realistic but to turn a #1 overall pick into 2 first and 2 second rounders would be the most efficient way to build for the future.  If we hit on even 2 of the 4 picks, we would be in a great position to develop for the near future.

I think best case scenario is somehow by some vodoo magic the Jets win enough to land just outside the top five and then maybe we pluck their two first rounders....but that is very wishful thinking.

The trade down cycle that would be amazing, if the FO and fanbase can be patient, is to trade down multiple times for future 1st round picks, ideally to the worst run franchises. Then in the 2027 draft, trade down again. Rinse and repeat.

 

Having multiple 1st round picks every year for simply being patient is a great way to replenish talent and remain competitive over a long time -- especially if you already have a franchise QB in place.

What about downs? I dont follow college, i just watch tape around draft season so curious

If there's a runaway consensus #1 QB and a great option as #2 QB, I think it's possible but everything must align.

You're better than me. If I'm lucky, I watch tape on projected top 10 picks or after they are drafted by us.  Try to force myself to see the potential in their highlight tapes.  So many wasted hours on scrubs and could have beens...

I only know downs because i watched a few way to early mock drafts to get an idea for names i could hear this year. He was basically the unquestioned number 1 player to start the cfb season. Which is konda crazy for a saftey

Just saw some highlights.

As long as Caleb Downs doesn't wear his jersey too tight like Derrick Henry, he looks legit and would love to have him in Titans blue.  I don't know why Oman hates Henry so much but I personally think he's a bit overrated, don't like his running style for a big "bruising" back, and (for my own personal vanity) I don't want to see any portion of any of our players' abs or ass when they are running in Titans uniform.

Downs is in the top tier of safety prospects of the last decade, however it's a low value position and the rumors are the he's going to have pretty shitty athletic testing. Teams already have that GPS data anyways. Probably a mid-1st rd pick

I wasn't advocating him with a top 3 pick, i just mentioned him since dan said someone else was being talked about as the top prospect.

I'm pretty sure that the plan for rebuilding the franchise has been agreed upon by AAS, Brinker, and Borgonzi..and for AAS, surely she remembers our run after Robinson's first draft ..but this time, we get draft and develop our own talent.. 

Speaking of which,  we have a solid base developing on offense, but could use upgrades at RB, WR's, and some developmental prospects for LT in the future..
