I'm not really talking currently. I meant in the glory days of Tannehill versus Henry. There's no one left but Oman trolling saying anything negative about Henry.

Oh I thought this was about people just ragging on Henry now/recently.

I never really understood the comparison between the two of them because it basically just boils down to QB vs RB which is sort of silly. To me it always seemed like the tension was about some people not giving him enough credit vs some people giving him too much credit, and it predictably went to the extremes from there. And mixed in there was a lot of general ignorance about how the run game and specifically PA impacts passing games etc.

The guy on the turf should be in a postal worker uniform.   Kinda like this...

If I was underage you'd really love Henry then! Then you could vote for him!

Frankly, the mentions of Tannehill shouldn't even be allowed in this conversation because it serves as a convenient distraction from the real issue. These bozos have such a bad eye for talent that they looked a future hall of fame RB and determined that he wasn't even fit to be an NFL starter. They then looked for excuse after excuse to avoid taking their L as he continued to prove them hilariously long week after week. I don't know what's worse, missing that badly on your own or arriving at many of those conclusions because you allowed O-man to pull your puppet strings.

He said "Henry is just a closer" and they parroted "Henry is just a closer"!. He said "Henry is a spare", they parroted "Henry is a spare". He said "Henry is washed", they parroted "Henry washed"!. He said "tomato can", they parroted "tomato can" and made memes about it. For people who not only consider themselves intelligent but frankly MORE intelligent than pretty much everyone else, I imagine that allowing yourself to be influenced this thoroughly and transparently for so long would be deeply embarrassing if they could actually accept that this is what happened. I'd feel bad about calling it out but I've tried to warn people every step of the way and gotten nothing but shit for it so meh. The truth hurts, if you can accept it that is.

Da King will always be Da King in my book!  To this day though, I'm still not sure wth a tomato can is and how it relates to DHen. 😹  Never heard it until I heard it on TR.  Oh wait, did I just say 🍅 🥫?  I'm turning into a damn 🦜 !!!

yup. Which is why I stopped engaging on the subject with anyone who can't admit Tannehill was great in 2019 and 2020. The convo starts from there.

I blame my parents for allowing me to watch way too much of this silliness back in the day.

I remember when they brought this back on spike tv or something when i was a kid. They also had jousting which was pretty awesome for half a season.

What’s weird, unicorn weird, is if Saquon had not gone superhuman in the second half of last year, Henry would have been creeping into mt Rushmore discussions in the national media. And dude is a lock for 1,500 again at 31.

But he is just a RB, and he's not winning your team much frankly.

His 200+ yards and 4 TDs didn't help the Ratbirds win last week?  The third down conversions to extend drives didn't help?

In a team sport, you saying this doesn't really hold much.  We all know QBs are important, but there isn't a QB playing this year that is undefeated.  So I'm not sure where you plan on going with this "not winning your team much frankly" stuff.

No, a RB doesn't mean much overall in terms of being a contender. That's not a knock on Henry, it's just how it is.

Idk if id say that exactly. I wouldn't build around or pay a rb big money. I would cycle in acceptable guys till you hit that contention window then id spend a high 2nd or maybe even a first on one to finish the offense. They tend to hit the ground running better than any ither position and have a very short shelf life. Just gota be smart with the investment.

How you acquire one really isn't the issue though....

How good your RB is has very little correlation to whether you're a contender or not. Henry and Barkley were on terrible Giants and Titan teams before going to the Eagles and Ravens. Those teams were also great running teams and contenders before either RB landed on those teams.

RB is also more dependent on the supporting cast than most positions.
