He can run faster than NWI probably so that’s why his upside is higher

I don’t think he did run faster than NWI though. If he did then it wasn’t by much.

Oliver might have some starting potential, but if so he’d be a low end starter. I’d say they are pretty comparable as guys who really should be #4 WR type guys.

Oliver's upside as a WR is way higher than NWI's

Yeah kinda weird comparing a guy who can't separate to a guy who always separates

Edit: Callahan did say Oliver can do everything NWI did so they didn't actually lose anything when NWI left

He has all the physical tools. Seems to be studious and ambitious. His strengths are JC's weaknesses and vice versa. I expected him to develop faster, but if he's ready mid season to take over or even just fill in for a few games, that would be HUGE

Yeah, having Duncan as the swing OT would be a HUGE relief. Our depth at OT is scary otherwise. I'm not sure I like our starter at LT, but he's at least a starter in the league. Duncan stepping up would do us a LOT of favors. Now, if we could get some decent depth in the interior...

They aren’t the same player, but they fill the same role and are roughly the same quality of WR

Jackson Slater seems like good interior depth. Hance is probably good at guard, too. And Levin has been a solid backup C. Rupcich at least has the chance to grab a roster spot, too.

NWI had decent hands and reliability, but he could never get open on his own. Oliver can get open easily in man. NWI is a perfect example of how bad the WRs were for years. He's a backup that we had to rely on

Slater has promise. Idk shit about Hance. Rupcich looks good in camp but will suck ass per usual. Maybe he's developing. Levin same thing. They're trash cans unless they've magically changed under Bill C.

Not too much discussion or reports on Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson , for ever to be known as BCD , the UDFA from Florida, that we paid $250K to come to our camp... Has anyone seen anything about this possible backup RT??

I heard a little positive talk about him a few days ago and nothing glaringly negative, but that’s not much to go by and he’s facing 3rd string edges.

I think Oliver has the ability to be a strong number two.  He seems to know what he is doing and he made plays as a rookie.  I mentioned last yr he reminded me of DMase skill set as a WR.  He does not have the ST skills of DMase but I like his game.  I think he might be the #2 this year over the rookies now that Burks is gone.

NWI was so obviously JAG. Same with Oliver. They can look decent because theres no other options. NWI was scoring TDs because people forgot obout him. He didnt scare anyone
