I don't follow college much and don't pay attention to the prospects until close to the draft.    Early on I fell in line with the talk of it being a terrible draft class for QBs. Terrible y

The Giants offered a haul and the Titans quit even listening. The NFL decision makers know.   I also think it's pretty funny it actually took a few miracles for the Titans to fall into the #

Mahomes played at Texas Tech. Allen played at Wyoming. Level of competition isn't as important as traits that translate to the pro game.

In the Baltimore loss specifically he was put in awful spots by the coaching staff.  Also honestly the coaches did him no favors in the NE playoff game.  When you limit the chances a QB gets to throw it takes away their effectiveness.  All QBs need to be allowed to get into a rhythm.  After the first drive against the Ravens when they marched right down the field they decided to give it to Henry over and over again, limiting what Tannehill could do and ruining any rhythm he had gotten into.  That loss had very little, if anything, to do with Tannehill.

The same people "liking" this post would "laugh" if you replaced QB with RB and defended another player in this regard.  If you limit a RB the chances to run, it takes away their effectiveness.  All RBs need to be allowed to into a rhythm.

This is an argument with preconceived ideas and sides taken.

Someone do an analysis of the draft + offseason-so-far for the defense (the Titans official podcast mentioned that Simmons and Hooker are the two longest-tenured vets drafted by the Titans) and special teams (this was a glaring weakness only overshadowed by Levis).

no reason why Moon's number can't still be "retired" as an Oiler # and Ward wear it as a Titan. same with 34, etc...
as long as there's not an Oiler jersey with Ward's name on it with the #1. on a Titans jersey, sure go ahead
there's only two #'s that (arguably) shouldn't be issued on Titans jerseys and that's 9 and 27

the dumbest shit regarding retiring numbers is Shitdeur Sanders Colorado #2, that's fkn ridiculous

Next thing you know, the Titans will have to retire 1 again.

It will be really awkward if ward is either terrible or good enough for the number to be retired for him as well.

Iv looked at all the evidence and it looks like they still have work to do.

Daniel Jeremiah did a good job on the Rich Eisen Show compartmentalizing Ward the person/prospect with his realistic forecast with how things might go for him on this current Titans roster in 2025.

Jeremiah has no concerns whatsoever about how Ward is going to handle the tough times when in all likelihood this team goes on a losing streak at some point in 2025.

Jeremiah also rightfully pointed out there is still some major work to do roster wise compared to the true championship contenders. (The Titans/Ward stuff starts around the 4:50m mark)
