It's one of the best when you don't see it for years. The Tampa Bay creamsicles were equally maligned in their time. Now, just like the Oilers look, they are considered en vogue. The reality is that the Oilers look will get old very fast when we see it every week.  Nobody and I mean nobody wanted to keep any element of the Oilers brand when they moved here.

Yeah, but the reason behind that for many, including me at the time was that we wanted our own identity. Now, I’m not mad at it, in fact, I’m liking it more and more every day. It’s really growing on me.

Man. Tonight is the last night this little baby will be our logo. You’ve served us well for almost 30 years little fella.    🫡

I'd make a few changes:

I like the raccoon.  I bought one of those "pillow pets" before I had kids since I figured they wouldn't last.  Not everything related to the team has to be for the adults.

Last time I visited Nashville, I got a T-Rac squishmallow for my wife.

Yeah, for my wife..

Shying away from the greek stuff is ridiculous. You don't have to have mascots wearing togas to lean into it a little more.

And notice, you don't have to do away with the navy blue/two tone blue either.

Thats pretty damn nice.

I am also calling bs on the greek trim is to detailed for merch. Its a bunch of stright lines. They would be pretty small lines on a hat but still, nothing crazy.

It'd be one thing if it was something gaudy like the greek alphabet or whatever, but it's just the simple meander pattern.

To add on, the worry about hat merch shouldn't really matter much. They don't have to include the pattern on merch that will make it hard to render well. Just use it on bigger merch like beach towels and whatnot.

Here it is on a helmet.

I used this image for the template.

Put the blue stripes back in the helmet and that's way better than anything I've seen.

If the ai didnt bork the stripes and say the middle one was dark blue and the side ones were light blue or the other way around that could be pretty nice.  Or just the blue and red stripes of the original

AI still wants to add its own little stupid flairs, like the inexplicable blue stripe near the temple. But that's just AI. Rendering engine still struggles with details like that.

It's at least good enough to get the jist of an idea though.

The etching on something like those team polos would look like shit.

It doesn’t matter what logo we use. It’s a button, it always was, but with flames. The colors are pressing people. The geriatrics still alive that remember the oilers colors are happy. The Two Tone Blue Gen X generation are pressed. I had an NFL yes bumper sticker on my car in 1996. I was at the MCM game and before that on December the 26th 1999, watched McNair throw 5 touchdowns against the Jags. Remember Jackie Harris catching that TD.

The colors are fire and the logo doesn’t really matter.
