But, but, but, those futures!  But, but, but, those circuit breakers!  The Market might be halted for days, maybe weeks!  When are people gonna be able to buy and sell again!?

The Market is currently up for the week already, off the good capitulation bounce that OTH said would be nice for the market yesterday.  As MM would say though...

It's really hard to fathom the level of retardation that is required to vote someone in based on reacting to high (but falling) inflation, and then supporting this idiot as he goes about implementing

It isn't difficult; they are just that stupid...

Also, can we just laugh at the absurdity of Trump claiming to be some master deal-maker and then revealing that the primary tool in his tool-kit is threatening his allies with economic violence? Are w

White House Press Secretary says 104% additional tariffs went into effect at noon eastern time because China has not removed it's retaliation. The 104% additional tariff will be collected starting tomorrow April 9th.

Another expensive bailout of the farmers similar to Trump's last term (23B) is coming.

If you need to upgrade your phone anyway, now is probably a good time, especially if it's an iphone.

Or any electronics really. I’ve been telling my clients to go ahead and buy that new computer now before the tariffs kick in. Cars, too. Basically any physical good…

North Dakota Sen. Kevin Cramer (R) said there’s a lot of concern in the Senate Republican Conference about where Trump’s trade war is headed and how much damage it will inflict on the economy.

“They’re like pretty much everybody: ‘We hope he’s right, we hope that the market finds a floor,’” Cramer said of the discussions among GOP senators about the impact of Trump’s reciprocal tariffs.

Republican senators want to know how long to expect the tariffs to remain in place, and are confused as to whether the tariffs are primarily designed to win leverage in negotiations or are long-term and meant to raise revenue.

“Some people are concerned about getting some clarity. Are these forever? Is this a revenue source or this a strategy to grow our economy and create more equity and parity with other countries? Because the two aren’t the same thing,” Cramer said.

“Are some of these tariffs forever or going to replace an income tax?” he said.

Apparently republican senators think there is a difference between short-term negotiations and a long term strategy to re-shore and raise revenue.

They chose to get in bed with an unpredictable, emotionally unstable, and wildly erratic manchild with a massive ego, massive insecurity, and very low intelligence.

They're slowly realizing that with Trump,  there's no picking and choosing which aspects of his crazy/stupid you deal with;   you get ALL of it.
