Starkiller Posted January 23, 2025 Report Share Posted January 23, 2025 I’d expect guys like Wilson and Daniel Jones and Mac Jones to get backup contracts with playing time incentives this year and to look for places where they may get some opportunity to start. And there will be teams interested in them. Guys like that are looking to do what Darnold and Geno did, but history says those examples are few and far between. There are legitimate options in Free Agency and I’m not necessarily against a reclamation project to hold the line until they find their guy… but I am pretty sure Wilson is garbage and will continue to be garbage wherever he goes. Yeah I figured that out which is why I edited it. Initially I was like what in the world? Zach Wilson honestly has been maybe the biggest bust since Jamarcus Russell along with probably Trey Lance. He's been that bad. It doesn't mean he can't get better, though. He has all the talent in the world. He didn't sound like the type of QB that Chad Brinker is looking for, however. Let the best of the two of them be the backup. You can't depend on Zach Wilson to be a starter. He's also the exact opposite of what Callahan seems to want in his QB. Much like Carthon largely owned the QB room in 2024, Brinker, Borgonzi, and Callahan will certainly own the 2025 room. It's their job to spend the next 50 days or so figuring out what path they are going to take - go for Darnold, sign a bridge vet, plan on the draft).
