Nash
Agree.. Wilson only comes here if there are guarantees we are trading back would be my guess..if Darnold goes to the Raiders, then the Giants become the team most likely to trade up for #1.. I think we all know Wilson has talent, but does he have his act together or not??

Why would any free agent QB want to sign here when they hold the #1 pick? I see only two ways to convince them. Pay them starter level money or announce a trade of the #1 pick before they sign. The only other scenario that I see is that free agency is almost played out, most spots are filled and a desperate guy takes low end backup money. BudsOilers
Darnold is still likely in a different area if he hits the market but throw out any other reclamation or bridge candidate out there and it will be about opportunity. Nobody in that Brisset, Winson, Mariota, Cousins, R. Wilson veteran bridge guy or a Fields, Z. Wilson, Lance is in a position to get starting QB money. Rodgers might be able to pull that off if he hits the market but even then his days of 45 M per year are over. Given the top QB's in this draft are generally seen as developmental, the opportunity to be the Darnold for 2025 is out there at least for the younger guys. Is there an opportunity for any of these younger guys to be the next Darnold in Tenn? As long as the Titans hold the #1 pick, the opportunity for playing time looks better elsewhere. If one buys that the intent of the Titans would be to sit and develop the #1 pick, there's certainly an opportunity to start in 2025 like Darnold did in 2024 for a 1 year 10 M deal. rns90, and IsntLifeFunny

Isn’t this common sense , just on money and opportunity? Even if you don’t see it as a long term starting gig , FA QBs or reclamation qb will go to the spot with easiest path towards playing time in order to build their value for the next team. And in this case, if we are indeed sitting the #1 pick for most of the year, it makes us an appealing destination. BudsOilers

Problem is that a free agent QB considering signing in March will have no concrete idea how a rookie drafted at #1 will work out. He might start day 1. He might sit the entire season. Who actually knows? Thus it's a risk for the signee to assume playing time and probably a signifcant risk considering how much pressure there will ultimately be to get the #1 pick on the field. Consider what a free agent QB is looking at from their point of view: team holds the #1 pick missing 2 starting OL only has 1 credible starting WR worst team in the league IsntLifeFunny

These “reclamation projects” will jump at the chance for a one year deal to get a chance to show they’re the next Sam darnold. The opportunity to sign a big deal in two years after they’ve proven themselves on the one year deal is what they want. They don’t have to be guaranteed the starting gig, just that they’ll have every chance to compete for it. rns90, and BudsOilers
Starkiller
We could wait until all the other teams with a starting QB opening have signed someone, then pick through the desperate leftovers looking for just a shred of hope. Otherwise we aren’t going to be somewhere veteran QBs looking for a shot are going to flock to.

CLE and NYG are 3 win teams with regimes having to win in 2025 or get fired. Vegas won 4 games and the Jets won 5. Adding to this , Vegas isn’t looking for a bridge /reclamation project, they will either trade up for Sanders or sign Darnold/Russell Wilson. So you can scratch them off the list for the group of qbs that the Titans will be looking at .
BudsOilers
I'd be pretty surprised if the Raiders signed Russell Wilson. It's not like the end in Seattle was great. They literally traded RW because he went to the owner via his agent and said he wanted Pete and Schneider fired. In addition, they saw his mobility skills diminishing.
