Trump’s 2nd term: American Carnage

real AI, not the garbage we have now, will take jobs. It will start with entry level jobs and progress exponentially. Its going to happen but its not happening now because agentic AI and the existing LLMS its based on are garbage and require insane levels of discipline along with mature business processes to prompt effectively. Just like companies used the election lat year to publicly announce layoffs that had been planned for months, many today are using AI as a cover to slash costs, some of which is legit as companies overhired remote work forces during covid, to increase profit.

Trump is genuinely an idiot running the country. Like an extremely low IQ individual. Bush was dumb in his ways but this is another level. Fascinating to watch him with even less guard rails

The biggest grift is the fact the GOP explodes the deficit every time they gain control of congress and the Whitehouse. They want $4.5T worth of tax cuts for the wealthy. Guess who pays for that? the

AI will continue to take more jobs as infrastructure ramps up and they tailor it to do more specific tasks.

This isn’t really new as automation has been taking jobs forever. But this time around I don’t see how we are replacing all those jobs. People went from doing factory jobs to tech jobs and service work. Now AI is going to be taking those. What are people supposed to do?

On top of that, unlike other jumps in technology that throws off the equilibrium, the gains from AI are almost completely centralized, so the benefits are being siloed. It's completely different than in other times where new training helps employees while gains are somewhat evenly distributed throughout the business sector.

Right from the Roy Cohn playbook we've seen on a daily (hourly?) basis for years now:

"1. Never apologize or admit wrongdoing, ever. Cohn viewed contrition as weakness and would rather die (literally, as it turned out) than acknowledge error or fault. As journalist Ken Auletta, who covered Cohn extensively, noted, “The idea that you can admit a mistake is not part of Roy’s genetic code.” This principle would become so fundamental to Trump’s approach that even faced with irrefutable evidence—a recorded confession of sexual assault on the Access Hollywood tape, for instance—he would deny, deflect, and attack rather than offer the slightest acknowledgment of impropriety.

2. Always counter-attack, and always with greater force than you received. When criticized or accused, Cohn’s response was invariably to hit back harder, to escalate, to make the accuser regret ever mentioning his name. As Cohn himself explained to a reporter: "I bring out the worst in my enemies, and that’s how I get them to defeat themselves.” This tactic became Trump’s signature move, whether attacking Gold Star parents who criticized him, mocking a disabled reporter who questioned his claims, or threatening critics with lawsuits and retribution."

Since 2016 when Trump wasn't on the ballot the Republicans have been killed in those elections.

The idea that someone like JD Vance is going to get up in front of people and make the ridiculous claims and promises Trump does is laughable. He'd get killed. No one has the free pass Trump does. Imagine Biden passed out in his chair in a meeting like Trump the other day.

You can already see the panic, like reo's video explained. MTG knows all of this. It's hilarious she's moving to democratic policy.

Dude.. talked to my uncle in Texas the other day. He hates Vance. Says hes a closet gay married to a foreigner who is fake as shit. Going to be funny when he shifts course after Vance divorces his wife and marries Kirk's widow. Only half joking. I think its real possible.

While I agree Trump is unique i think many are discounting the weaponization of media and the right wing digital empire that is here to stay.

There is a real debate about waht is causing republican turnout to drop in midterm elections.

Is it the fact Trump isn't on the ballot?

Is it a function of all midterm elections for both parties where the party in power isn't as motivated as the out party?

Some combination of both?
