tgo
It's pretty clear that this GM will essentially be Brinker's EVP of Player Personnel. This is going to be a draft/scouting process focused GM who has a background in college scouting and who is subservient to Brinker. The nature of the position is going to exclude certain guys who want more organizational control or who have a cap management/pro scouting background. I would think guys like Mike Borgonzi or Ray Agnew wouldn't be considered for this role. Funny enough, someone like Ryan Cowden would be a perfect fit. Guys like Jon-Eric Sullivan, Trey Brown, and internally Anthony Robinson or Jon Salge will be considered. Feel free to use this thread to list your favorite candidates for the role and to keep the actual candidates up to date. Official Reported GM Candidates: 1. Mike Borgonzi, Chiefs Asst GM 2. Catherine Hickman, Browns Asst GM/VP of Football Operations 3. Terrance Gray, Bills Director of Player Personnel 4. Reggie McKenzie, Dolphins Senior Personnel Executive 5. Ed Dodds, Colts Asst GM 6. John Spytek, Bucs Asst GM 7. Thomas Dimitroff, Former Falcons GM 8. Matt Berry, Seahawks Sr Director of Player Personnel 9. Ian Cunningham, Bears Asst GM 10. Jon-Eric Sullivan, Packers VP of Player Personnel Edited January 10, 2025 by tgo freakingeek
OnsideKick
The #Jets are expected to interview #Packers VP of Player Personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan, source said. A key lieutenant to Brian Gutekunst, Sullivan has risen up the ranks in Green Bay over the last two decades. AvgJoe
I actually think Agnew could be in play. His son is here and he is up there in age, he’s 57. This might be his best chance to be a larger piece of a puzzle titanskick8851, and Omar
AvgJoe
Just sharing. This mentions the Commanders’ Lance Newmark and Trey Brown of the Bengals https://x.com/nfldraftbites/status/1876673391043776777?s=46 Edited January 7, 2025 by AvgJoe freakingeek

Brinker mentioned college scouting multiple times, and Brinker's background is in pro personnel so it just seems like he'd want someone to specifically complement his skill set. Already has a relationship with Callahan.

BudsOilers
People with GB ties or with those from GB (think Schneider's SEA people) probably should be on the list first and foremost. oldschool, titanskick8851, and Nash
BTiger3733
Real question, wouldn't Jim Nagy be a great fit for what Brinker is looking for? Edited January 7, 2025 by BTiger3733
tgo
Trey Brown seems like a really good fit for this role. He'd be at or near the top of my list. Jon-Eric Sullivan of course makes a ton of sense but would he take this role or would he rather wait it out for a different job?
BudsOilers
BTW - Nagy has SEA ties as well as NE ties....and the Titans plane was in Mobile yesterday. Justafan

scine09
I haven't heard the name Ray Agnew since the 90's. Edited January 7, 2025 by scine09 titanruss

Nagy doesn't have a ton of leverage to demand control, his only NFL experience is as an area scout tgo
