Are you calling me a fan boy?  I've been ripping Vrabel since late last season.  Just because I can recognize that he's a good coach who if he changed certain things can be better than good doesn't make me a fan boy.  In fact I am hoping that things don't work out in NE.

No, not you.  I just find it weird that you equivalent Vrabel succeeding in NE as mostly luck/karma.

Hats off to oldschool for taking the L.    If I’m wrong about something I will as well

Vrabel inherited a good team that was bolstered by Derrick Henry, Kevin Byard, and later Ryan Tannehill, all playing in their primes, and then AJ Brown, Corey Davis, and Jonnu Smith - all behind a ver

well fuck. The L is mine. I'm man enough to admit it.

It just feels like that's how it's going to go.

From a football perspective there's no reason for me to think he's not going to succeed.

I think he’ll raise the bar there to at least average , maybe even above that .  But annual contender is questionable.

Ambulance chasers I know stack paper.

And if you're in sports radio then it was probably a lifelong dream fulfilled. But having to sell the outrage still has to feel dirty in some way.

Aren't you at least a bit concerned that these people will actually be right and he'll end up being some great historical coach?  I think back to Belichick being fired by the Browns and then doing what he did with the Patriots.

I'm sure someone else has answered this: No.

Not only different timetables but Vrabel isn't a pimple on BB's ass, and the fact he doesn't know it makes it worse.

Let's say Vrabel is close to similar as a coach as BB. He'll need an all-time QB to get there. He'll need to adapt his offensive philosophy from 1998 (BB did that after winning multiple SBs. Vrabel never did). And he'll need to keep a good OC, something he couldn't do here.

Vrabel to NE means nothing except for fans who believe Fisher should have been retained. Maybe he evolves with NE but it wasn't happening here. We would have been completely fucked if they handed him the reins.

Haven’t had a chance to listen to the interview but what’s up with Simmons supposedly wanting out?  Also apparently he liked a tweet randomly implying it to be true?  Anyone have the details?

He liked a tweet from someone saying Vrabel should trade a 1st for him. Time to go shopping anyways so not a huge loss even if we have to take less. Fuck him as far as my book goes.

Yeah.  If he wants out, sell while the value’s still high.  Even if it’s not as high as we’d like.  Draft Ward and build around him with the extra capitol.

You can say nice things about meathead all day...just provide support.  And arguing 'excellent' vs 'elite' is semantics.  Tannehill was a fucking stud in bailing the team out of constant 3rd and longs....we'll see how Maye does at that.

Elite are MVPs or guys in the discussion for them (I add the discussion point strictly for Brees.)  Tannehill was excellent/great in 2019/2020 but he wasn't elite.

He botched home games in the playoffs twice after 2019.  Not sure one can ignore these flaws and not point that the guy had a big part in those losses.

He’s a good coach but the way some are portraying him is comical.

Who are the people portraying him comically?
