Would be going against their premium positions with premium picks mantra.

Wouldn't take Watts at #35 but like some of the WR and EDGE guys more palatable if you are talking about trading back to 45-55 range and adding draft capital.

If they took Watts that high then Borginzi could argue that someone showing that much consistency in creating turnovers IS coming from a premium position.

Even though, not really, lol. But hey, Fisher drafted Michael Griffin at what, 27th, once upon a time.

And fuck ESPN and the NFLN you pricks can't go to a commercial before the #1 pick.

Let us old-school football guys take a moment appreciate to the fact that the Titans earned the #1 overall pick the old-fashioned way.   Not by tanking or by trading up, but by simply being

I'd hate Hunter. The Titans best position is likely CB and you don't take a WR that high. If the Titans traded down to 3 and Carter went 2 I'd rather trade down again and maybe go for someone like Mem

I saw a mock trend developing today. A couple have Jayden Higgins going in the 1st to Green Bay, even though they don’t typically draft first round WRs. We’ll see, Green Bay. We’ll see.

Here’s what I think I see with all the visits.  I think they are pretty much acknowledging that there are a lot of holes on this team.  They are not idiots and see that WR /EDGE are glaring weaknesses.

But I don’t think they want to be forced into taking one and are ok making waiting if they can get a trade down and an extra pick or two.  I don’t think they turn down a potential starter at another position who is rated higher than the best available WR/EDGE.

If all the available players are at the same tier then EDGE/WR probably gets the nod.

The fix is getting more good players and regardless of whether they can trade out of 35 to turn that into 2 day 2 picks, that remains true.

They just don’t have enough starters (talking about multi year guys) even in the solid tier in their foundation yet, especially on defense.  On offense at least the OL has 4 I could count .

I’ve done a reversal on this but if they take Jackson at 35 I’m fine with it.  Seems like a multi year high floor starter.

Can’t be mad at Donovan Jackson at 35. I was high on him last year before he decided to go back to Ohio State. He’s a high level backup at 4 potential spots as well as an eventual starter in one year.

These are QBs we will be looking at if we dont take ward lol

Lagway? Imagine the twists on that name, especially if he were to suck.

Horton looks pretty good.  Hopefully Restrepo being slow as shit causes him to fall.

I love speed... we need speed, and for once it looks like we're FINALLY going to focus on getting some speed here.

That being said, Cooper Kupp ran a 4.6 in the 40 and he's been a massive star at the position. XR only ran it 2 tenths of a second slower than he did.

Route running, separation, and hands. If XR has those then any offense could live with less speed and be plenty happy.

Not enough discussion of Xavier Watts.  He got a top 30 visit and is an absolute ball magnet which is a defensive weakness.  Looks like he could be under consideration at 35 or after a very small trade down.  And don't forget they were supposedly in on J Holland who is a turnover generator.

@BudsOilers

I told Bud I thought Watts is a legit possibility at 35 a few days ago.

A safety? At 35? Come on... if we go defense that early it's gotta be edge.

Yes. They obviously value the position. They offered Holland a big deal and Watts is a top 30 visit.

The chances of a great edge at 35 are slim, a great ball hawk safety is a real possibility

Analyst and analyst/former NFL player comparing Ward to Mahomes and Roethlisberger. Also, I have seen others comparing him to Roethlisberger lately.

https://www.on3.com/pro/news/louis-riddick-compares-cam-ward-patrick-mahomes-claps-back-fans-following-online-criticism/

“He reminds me of Patrick, he remind me of Mahomes with how he can be unconventional, throw the football from all different kinds of weird angles, and then just put a bunch of horsepower on it when he needs to,” Riddick said. “If someone was telling me hey, that’s maybe what you’re getting, I’d be prety damn excited. I’m not saying I’m exactly right, but that’s my bet Cam Ward will have that kind of impact and play you that kind of style of football in Tennessee if they happen to select him No. 1.”

In February, Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus compared Ward to former Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger. “Ward is an unorthodox gunslinger, and the NFL comparison my mind keeps going back to is Ben Roethlisberger,” Sikkema wrote. “Both had some scoot with their escapability, but you wouldn’t exactly call them mobile. Both were also fearless in pushing the ball deep down the field. It’s a high-end comparison, but I believe Ward sees the game like Big Ben did.”
