Vrable pounded the table for panda and nearly busted a nut in the draft room when we drafted malik willis, that alone should be enough to completely disqualify him from being anywhere near player acquisition.

Panda was more on Robinson.  So was Farley.  Not that I feel like defending Vrabel all that much because he’s got his own howlers in terms of player evaluations.

JRob's  three first-round picks from 2020-2022 will preclude him from ever garnering serious consideration for another NFL GM gig.   Wilson, Farley and Burks might very well be the single most useless

lol hearing QC talking about the importance of the OL…..

Next they'll have Meathead on saying someone should trade for Dillard!

I get what you're saying but I think the fact that he couldn't win before Brady and after Brady tarnishes his legacy.  It would be one thing if he was getting to the playoffs and just not advancing far enough but here's his ten seasons without Brady, including the one that Brady missed most of:

6-10

7-9

7-9

11-5 (lone playoff win against, ironically enough, the Patriots)

5-11

5-11

11-5

7-9

10-7

8-9

4-13

He can be forgiven for his lack of success in Cleveland. It's Cleveland. And yes, I realize that team was actually the Ravens before they moved to Baltimore but it's still Cleveland. It's the damn city... it's an infection. Belichick still managed to push the Browns to an 11-5 record in his penultimate season with them.

And his pre-Brady stint in New England consisted of one whole season, 2000. They drafted Brady after that and everything since is history.

Belichick has earned his GOAT status. You're just going to have to reconcile your status in the minority with your take on him.

Talk to a Patriots fan about him.  I think as a fan base as a whole their opinion of him is not as high as yours is.  They saw what he did to the team (in the same way Robinson ruined the Titans) with his awful drafting/player acquisitions.

Then they are retarded as the Titans fanbase.

Can you really accuse someone of "ruining" your team when they are the only one to have ever brought sustained success to it?

As good as Brady is, to think a flabby QB with a 5.2 forty time carried a mediocre roster and coach to 6 SB victories is totally stupid.  Belichick coached championship level defense nearly every single year.

Belichick 100% ruined the 2020-2024 Patriots with terrible move after terrible move.  It's no different than what Robinson did to the Titans.

You indicated that NE fans didn't have a high opinion of him in general.  I don't think anyone argues with this being a bad period for him.  But if you just judge him by that and dismiss everything else, you're too dumb to have a meaningful opinion about anything.

I am not dismissing a thing as far as his success from 2001-2019.  I am saying that all of his success as a head coach came with Tom Brady at QB and he had ten years without him and won one playoff game.  While Brady in the year immediately following playing for Belichick went on to win the Super Bowl.  Sorry, but you can't just ignore those two things.  They matter.

You also can't ignore that he's had 17 Top 10 defenses throughout his career- 8 of which were Top 5.

Belichick didn't win a SB with a bad QB, just as Brady never won a SB without a Top 10 defense.  Belichick was a huge factor in every single one of these championship (including TB)

For the sake of comparison, Aaron Rodgers had 3 Top 10 defenses in his entire career.  Brady nearly matched that in just 3 seasons in TB.

Yes.  Belichick was definitely partially responsible for the TB Super Bowl.  I'm surprised he didn't get a ring for that!

Now I've heard it all.

I'd argue that there are several other great QBs who would have a lot of titles if they had 17 Top 10 scoring defenses.

Nope. Plenty of other QBs have played behind good/great defenses. None of them played their role to the T over 7 championships like Brady.

He never folded even in the losses. He had the single greatest comeback in NFL history and that isn't going to be duplicated anytime soon on that stage. We saw what happened to Mahomes out there and he's second in line. Don't get it twisted.
