In case people aren’t aware - Ridley and Hopkins are an elite WR duo. Not a top 3 duo, but one of the better duos in the league.

Maybe Ridley was a #1 after his 1300 yard season but he barely cracked 1000 last year too in 17 games. Some people aren’t aware that 1000 yards nowadays is 59 yards a game. That is not a #1. Tee Higgins is the same as Calvin Ridley, sometimes present sometimes not. I agree Ridley and and Hopkins are a great duo but next year when Hopkins leaves, you’re gonna replace him with Tee Higgins? That’s why I thought Odunze would’ve been a great pick. I know we never know until they hit the field but everything is a risk.

I disagree.  WR room is fine.  And I think we got enough there.  We have to block it up to allow Levis to cook.

I can respect that. I say what I did because when I see next year receivers I don’t see anyone like Odunze or Nabers.

But as important as WR is in the modern NFL, LT is still markedly more important.

Eh, IDK about this indicating LT being markedly more important. I think it's that there's a gaping black hole at both OT spots and we have a very good WR duo.

He is literally gonna play the X - which is the Jamar Chase role in Callahan's offense. This has been confirmed.

 

Hopkins will be playing Z.

Yeah - he struggled so much that they desperately wanted him back and he was the top WR on the market. And his pass game coordinator from the Jags lobbied to bring him to TN with him.

Just because you’re the best option on the market that doesn’t mean he’s as good as you think he is. If he played X his stats are kind of weak for that. 1016 yards? That’s Tee Higgins like. Average. 59 yards a game is not playing the X. Kirk had 200 yards less and played in 5 less games and Engram had 40 more receptions and 50 yards less. He barely led the team in receiving. Again that’s not an X.

I think you’re confusing “number 1 WR” with the nuanced position of X receiver in Callahan’s system. 
 

Chase is 6’0 around 200 lbs with unreal speed - very similar traits profile to Ridley who is basically the exact same size although not as talented obviously. Big play deep threat guy though, same as Ridley. The Z receiver in the scheme is moreso the long, bigger possession receiver like Higgins. 
 

If they had drafted Odunze - most likely he’d be the Z receiver in this scheme.
