It really is disappointing how cowardly the traditional conservatives have been during the MAGA takeover. Many of his cabinet and military leaders stood up to him in the ways they could, but outside o

Perhaps because so many on the right are openly stating their intentions and have done everything in their power to undermine and circumvent the process for democratically-held elections.

Should we elect the guy who tried to end democracy and sparked actual insurrection the last time he was in office?

Hmm ... tough choice. Really gotta think about it.

There will be many mental pretzels fashioned over the next several months and smothered in projections/gaslighting by well intentioned, good people  In fact, given our economic performance after Covid (the for sure recession that wasn’t), it might be more reasonable to call many of these gloom pimps, fake crisis actors. Let’s take the term back.

I’m a fan of Longwell and the Bulwark repubs, their approach, and have already kicked in a few bucks to the cause. Right minded repubs need to be the drivers in excising the maga cancer, but first and foremost they need all the help necessary to defeat Trump.

An anti-Trump Republican group is planning to spend $50 million in a campaign to stop the former president from winning a second term in the White House. Republican Voters Against Trump plans to share testimonial videos of Trump’s past backers who will share why they won’t be supporting the former president come November.

The campaign is orchestrated by Sarah Longwell, a Republican strategist who has long been critical of Trump. The plan is to target “moderate Republican” and Republican-leaning voters in swing states with videos. The group had a similar strategy in 2020, when they shared more than 1,000 testimonials during an election that President Biden won.

The ads featuring the former Trump voter testimonials will be deployed on TV, streaming platforms, billboards, radio and digital media. They will run in the battleground states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

If you stand for chaos then you vote for Trump. If you stand for the foundation of our Republic you do not. I am not a fan of binary thinking, because in most instances outside of math and science it is myopic, but in this instance from every angle imaginable it is simply the truth; be it a humanistic, egalitarian, constitutional, existential...etc. perspective the man cannot be allowed to regain the presidency. He's openly said he would be a dictator on from day 1.

Liz Cheney is becoming active in the movement against Trump as well -- starting a pac after Haley's concession.  Plain facts -- The Trump/Maga mob's first target in their presumed retribution tour would be exRepubs who stood up to the toxic democracy-destroying lies and all the political subterfuge that supported Trump and his bullshit.  These people are smart and well connected, but they are also fully exposed as they have no natural home / protection and certainly zero trust from the dems.  They are out on their own, and the maga mob capos eager to move up and get their grift on will come after them like hounds on the hunt.  These vulnerable excommunicated repubs and their next few circles of people who are aligned with them are likely the most motivated of any antiTrump faction. Biden and team need to onboard them in the best way possible.

I wonder if Cheney is considering a run at the GOP nomination in 4 years. I don’t see the MAGAts going away, but she would be a stronger candidate than Haley.

The non-MAGA types could rally around her. It’s just a question of how much power they will have in 4 years.

I don’t think so either, but who is going to carry on the cult post-Trump?

The problem is having laws that exclude elections as we know them.  MAGA has stated America needs a dictator, a strongman, Trump.

It takes a very powerful man to get Americans on board with him as the one man who needs to reconstitute America.  They believe he is "christ" come to save America.   They profess it as they disregard his sexual, political and business law breaking by saying "sometimes God uses a sleaze".

This man is very dangerous.

Can you guys imagine how nice and quiet and normal and stable things are going to be come Feb of 2025?

We will have defeated MAGA, and many of them will retreat back under the rocks from whence they emerged, and American Democracy will have weathered its 2nd most severe test/crisis since the Founding. What's left of the modern Republican Party will be in shambles, of their own doing.

Until then though, we are going to be kicking ass and taking names. A lot of work to do this year, but in the end, it's not going to be particularly close.

The Republican Party is the Maga party now. Unfortunately they aren’t going anywhere, even when Trump loses.

So a dispensary opened recently in your area, too?
