You think they'd be allowed out of their respective contracts for a demotion/lateral move?

Potentially depending on their own contract situation. I would assume Holz is still under contract, but Lewis just finished his third year for the Bucs. A lot of assistants get 3 year deals.

I'm willing to bet most teams will let assistants leave that really want to.

I will make clear that I prefer we hire Wilson as DC.

But what I will say is while this is not exactly the same, this reminds me of when Alex Anthopolous was hired as Braves GM. There was a lot of momentum from the previous GM to fire Brian Snitker and replace him. In fact, before the GM got fired he apparently HAD fired Snitker though it was never released.

AA reviewed the situation, had tons of conversations and ultimately kept Snitker, helped fine tune some things about his approach, and later that season they became the contenders and eventual champions they are now.

My point being, remove the control freak that is Mike Vrabel and Shane Bowen may be able to do his job at a top-notch level

Details?

Davis/Jeremiah/Siciliano were having a discussion about how the top OL coaches like Stoutland/Callahan would love to get their hands on Tyler Guyton with his elite movement traits and then the discussion morphed into the possibility of Callahan following his son to the Titans.

I don’t follow this stuff as close as I used to, and this is a draft question.  But at what range is Tyler Guyton projected ?  And would it be plausible for the Titans to trade down and draft him and use whatever currency to trade back up into the later first round to grab a WR?  Or another way to put it:

Fashanu at 7 + WR at 38 or

Guyton in Rd 1 + a Wr in the 24-32 range.

Some think Guyton could be a fringe top 10 guy others in the back half of the first round, the only thing most of draft media agrees is he is a freak athlete and some OL coach is going to be standing on the table for him trying to convince his GM to take him.

Quiver Chins and Vrabel failing to re-sign or adequately replace Davis, Jonnu, and OL pieces isn't on Bowen.  And Bowen was completely screwed by personnel (whiffs and injuries) in 2020 which is why the 3rd down D was so bad.  No pass rush and Chris Jackson/Jonathan Joseph at CB is a bad combo....

You are talking around the point.  We made a concerted effort to build the defense for Bowen at the expense of retaining quality offensive starters.

Keeping Bowen will be a big mistake.  Saying he wasn't bad is entirely a comparison of our 3 units.
