That's all I'm saying is I don't think they were and if a reasonable option was available I think they would've taken it. Rodgers/Watson were too expensive (Houston was never trading Watson to the Titans to begin with) but there just wasn't anything out there that they could've replaced him with at the time. And the rookie class stunk, as we're seeing now. Yes, I do think they were content and content is the right word. Were they jazzed about it? Fuck no. Neither were most of us. But I think that there is a gap to bridge between we're no super pumped about Tannehill and let's sign Jimmy G. The way I see the current NFL, if you're not pleased with you QB and you really feel you CAN'T win with him, you move heaven and earth to acquire one that you think you can win with. Despite all of the insistence around here that we did, I see no evidence that this actually happened. I think the Titans felt that if they put the right pieces around him, Tannehill could win and that this would buy them time until they could acquire/develop his replacement that would be the QBOTF. That's precisely what they did, though they failed to put a team around Tannehill and such didn't win as much as they initially thought they would. Which is why replacing Tannehill was so important. He was old as fuck and the chances that he played well enough to earn another contract here were low. Having a shitty supporting cast made it even more unlikely. I allowed myself to become optimistic when we signed D-Hop though. Should've known better. And my true argument the whole time has been: if you need a perfect team for your QB to perform well, you don't have a good QB. Peak Tannehill was when Jrob's dream draft in 2019 + some good FAs came together. We squeezed all the juice out of that fruit. The writing was on the wall regarding RT in 2021. Then he had to go get therapy. Then the injuries. Like I've said, we had a good run with RT, but many on this board were "bag holders." The fact is that YOU don't like that and came up with some made up contrarian idiocy to deflect. You're literally stalking me on this board, telling me to "post less" and continue to do it. Probably because I called you out yesterday. And you told ILF that you'd keep doing it. You think that's appropriate behavior for an adult? And honestly, which post that I made yesterday do you disagree with? I'm fine with disagreement. When it's done civilly.

BudsOilers
The offense has been washed aside from a game or 2 because they traded their elite WR and have trotted out the worst LT in football two years in a row and go out of their way doing stupid things like running too much on 1st/2nd down so that they can face obvious passing situations with the worst pass blocking unit in football! But Tannehill has always been the easy button target for the retards that have no idea on how to evaluate things since this place has existed. Levis faces the same issues. I think there was hope if they surrounded Tannehill with Pass Protection and weapons while riding Henry, they could compete. I also think the team and fans weighted the issues in 2021 and 2022 too heavily toward the rest of the offense and didn't attribute enough of the offensive issues to Tannehill simply regressing. Post less was far more nice than telling you you're stupid.... and yes I disagreed with your false accusation that the conflicted down stuff has anything to do with defending Tannehill. I KNOW what I mean when I post stuff and this was an issue I and others have been on even when Tannehill and the team were winning games and contending. So yeah, you attack me with false claims, I will point that out. Edited November 8, 2023 by BudsOilers

The problem is that Tannehill wasn't good enough then nor was he good enough at any point in his career to win with consistently unless he had a ton of help. It's why he's always been considered mostly a tier 3 QB. I still don't think the Titans ever thought that Tannehill was a building block. He was a solid QB that you can win with, but he was never going to be THE reason or a big reason like some of these elite QBs are. Obviously all QBs need help. Even Patrick Mahomes. But the likes of Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Rodgers, Lawrence, Herbert, etc can do it with a lot less help than Tannehill needs. I hope that makes sense.
