TheBukafax Posted July 27, 2023 Report Share Posted July 27, 2023 I’m torn by it. I loved the FAs he’s signed but hating his draft. The cap was in a rough place. Ran trimmed the right people. With that limited cap he found great value FAs. Key, AAS and SMB are great pieces to add to an already strong D. I believe AAS will be a big time pickup. On the O side Dillard, Hop and Brunskill aren’t as good of a trio as the D pickups. Hop does help this O in a major way though. The draft was a major oof for me. Skoronski needs to either be an elite guard or be able to play LT for this pick to be any good. Would have much preferred the risk of Broderick Jones. The trade up for Levis was also terrible in my eyes. So much capital for a low probability hit when the OL and WR needed so much help. Torrence, Mauch, Tippman or Mims would have helped the team much more. Spears is nice though. Overall I’m happy with what he’s done. He’s kept the team competitive in a tight cap situation. I do feel like he really go lucky with Hopkins and bailed the O a bit. His drafting though scares me for the future. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

freakingeek Posted July 27, 2023 Report Share Posted July 27, 2023 Overall I think he's taken a bad cap situation and sub par roster and given the Titans a legitimate chance to compete. The free agent signings appear to be solid and were cap friendly. Can't really judge the draft yet. Ask me again in 3 years. He came in under a lot pressure. So far so good. His Oline choices will be the most critical to have gotten right. There were limited options to fix a bad situation. Drafting Levis was a chance he had to take given our situation at QB. The real roll of the dice was the move up to pick Levis given the draft capital issues. The good thing is that he's easily able to move on from his 2023 moves and the 2024 cap is in great shape. Oline is questionable still and I wasn’t a fan of drafting Levis with so many other glaringly obvious needs. I like some of the players, I like the idea of moving away from a run-blocking only OL But really until we see it all work together I can't really make a comment, stockpiling good players isn't really how you build a good team and I think it sounds like we'll see a different Offense especially this year Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Downtown Posted July 27, 2023 Report Share Posted July 27, 2023 The draft class has real damaging bust potential. Skoronski is only worth #11 if he becomes a tackle. Levis is Levis with that high investment and it could have been a top WR for cheap. Spears needs to push this attack over the top to be worth a 3rd and so far it seems like Whyle will be more of a developmental guy early on. Hopkins comes at the cost of the end to Byard’s career as a Titan after this season. We might be regretting that one. And like always, the FA signings have to contribute, but it doesn’t seem likely that Ran hit on another Ben Jones or Denico Autry level addition. Dillard is probably the most important decision Ran made for the direct outcome of this season. The bigger concern is that we are getting old at key positions. Added some solid players, but no one that is really going to come in and be an all pro player other than Dhop. We didnt have the cap space to make a splash and he is handcuffed to bandaid this season with Jrobs mistakes. We really wont see the vision of the team until 2023 and then we can judge him in a fair judgement in 2024. We can all either circle jerk about how much we love the moves or complain about the moves for 2023 but not many of the picks of signing will impact the team in 2024 and beyond.
